Prolly the best way to get an Obama voter to change his vote is support a PUMA campaign. They are eroding Obama’s support from the inside out. Democrats are more likely to be convinced by Democrats. And I’ve never heard of a PUMA activist being pursuaded to return to the Dark Side.

I don’t have the medical expertise to reverse a lobotomy. At this point, all I can do is to inform them that due to heavy voter turnout election day has been staggered this year - Republicans vote on Tuesday, and Democrats vote on Wednesday.

Great idea, but once you’re done keep going! I’ve converted an elderly neighbor and my college age nephew, both of whom were Obamabots and are now committed McCain voters!

It’s easier than you think. Other than the fringe kook lefties, they are easy pickins because Obama’s support is a mile wide and an inch deep. Find out what their main reason is, and refute it. Most of the Obama-leaners are waiting for a reason not to vote for him, but it works best if it’s from someone they know.

I've gone through 20 years of business and personal contacts. Calls and cards. It has to be close to a thousand but it's hard to tell because many I can't reach on the first or second try. Some return calls.

I just got new lists from my brother in Colorado. He's working the phones and I'm backing him up calling into Colorado. Really good results. People want to talk.

I'm very low-key as if I just met these people on the produce aisle at the grocery store. The only thing that I want is for them to turn out and vote. If they are Obama supporters, I don't want to argue - I will lose (at least in their minds). I want to water the seed of doubt that they already have. Maybe they will stay home. I keep everything upbeat.

I use my real name. "Hey, I'm _____ ______ and I'm calling for John McCain. We need your help next Tuesday... This gives them an opportunity to tell me what their concerns and priorities are. I never mention policy except in passing. "I sure like his tax plan..." If they are interested, they will respond. If they are not, they will bring up something that they are interested in.

I never disparage Obama, except perhaps in a confirming comment: Them "He's a damn socialist!" Me "He sure is. Now, will you have any problem getting to the polls or what time can we pick you up?"

In the (fairly rare) case that I get an Obama supporter I'm smooth as butter. "Yes, I think he's a good man and I looked at him but ... I got turned off by his health care plan..." I'm not going to convert a Democrat but I may get them to stay home.

The only hard-sell comes at the end in motivating McCain supporters to vote. "We sure could use your help. Can we count on you to throw in with us next Tuesday? What time? Do you know your voting place? I can find it for you right now, if you want. Do you want us to call back on Tuesday to see if there's any problems? I really appreciate your help and if you need help call me personally. Now, do you know of anyone else who I could call ..."

He fights his fellow golfers over voting for Obama. He has switched more than 2 fellow golfers from Obama to McCain. He brings FR downloads to hand out.
