A poll that the University of Texas will release tomorrow shows that 23 percent of Texans think Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is a Muslim.
Less than half of respondents — 45 percent — correctly identified him as a Protestant.
The poll, conducted by UT’s Texas Politics Project and Department of Government, also shows Republican John McCain leading Obama in the state 51 percent to 40 percent, and shows Republican U.S. Sen. John Cornyn ahead of Democratic challenger Rick Noriega 45 percent to 36 percent, with 14 percent undecided in that race.
“Republican candidates continue to hold an advantage in Texas, but our results show that the electorate is unsettled by the economic situation and disapproval of existing political leadership,” said Jim Henson, director of the Texas Politics Project. “With only five days to go before the election, there are still pockets of undecided voters in the state, especially in the U.S. Senate race.”
A July poll conducted by UT showed McCain leading Obama 42 percent to 33 percent and Cornyn leading Noriega 44 percent to 31 percent.
The latest poll surveyed 550 registered Texas voters in mid-October, and it has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percent.
The poll also found:
• President Bush has a 34 percent approval rating in his home state.
• Congress has an 8 percent approval rating for its handling of the economic crisis.
• More than a third of respondents — 38 percent — said the media has been “extremely unfair” to Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
Only one in four? We have our work cut out for us...LOL
Not to mention this is from the very liberal Austin paper and liberal University of Texas so you can imagine what the true numbers are in TX.

If TX’s think that then those 1 in 4 polled are pretty stupid. Obama isn’t a muslim. He’s just a socialist.

Strange. Four out of five Muslims think Barak Hussein Obama is one of them. Wonder why? Couldn’t have been that he was born and raised a Muslim and palled around with radicals, anarchists, leftists, Marxists, socialists, black liberationists, revolutionaries, communists, Islamacists, propagandists, looters, rioters, bombers, terrorists, and anti-America extremists of every stripe for his entire life. He’s never met an anti-America radical he didn’t like.

I’ll bet less than 10% know what Black Liberation Theology is nor who James H. Cone is, and that’s a huge failure by the Republicans. Obama is no Muslim. His faith consists of a racist version of Marxism and burning desire for retribution against whites, all wrapped up in a pretty Christian wrapper. It’s frightening, sickening, and most Americans know nothing about it as election day draws near.

There are many educated Texans who are convinced that Obama is Muslim, a Manchurian candidate, and this poll reflects those numbers.
I have recently begun to connect the dots of his relationships and I agree with the sentiment. And I am highly educated.

But he is NOT a muslim.
His leftwing / socialist and black liberation theology roots are clear and consistent in his adult life.
His muslim roots are via blodlines nothing more.
Let’s see a poll on how many Muslims think he is a Muslim. This guy has made dozens of statements, gestures, and associations that would convince any Muslim he is one of them. Maybe it’s a pretense. But mocking the Bible and saying Israel has no right to exist are a couple of statements that would convince any Christian he’s not one of us.

It amazes me that these "journalists" who know absolutely nothing about Islam will pontificate that "Obama is not a Muslim" but have no idea what exactly is required to make one a Muslim.
One can easily become a Muslim by reciting the Islamic creed, the shahada. Mr. Obama has done so publicly, and in my book, he is a Muslim.
Put it this way: would *you* recite the following lines in public:
Allah Akbar (God is The Greatest)
Allah Akbar (God is The Greatest)
Ashadu an la ilaha illallah (I bear witness that there is no deity except God)
Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah (I bear witness that there is no deity except God)
Ashadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah (I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God)
I certainly wouldn't, not even if it would save my life.
But Mr. Obama did exactly that, in perfect Arabic, and then called it "the prettiest sound" on Earth. That certainly makes him a Muslim in the eyes of any fellow Muslim.
Here's the story, as recounted by Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times:

He once got in trouble for making faces during Koran study classes in his elementary school, but a president is less likely to stereotype Muslims as fanatics — and more likely to be aware of their nationalism — if he once studied the Koran with them.Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”
For what it is worth, I think that the latter bit was a clear act of al-mahabbah, a a public demonstration of his love for the shahada.

It was not good, and I cannot imagine being caught dead in public with a face like that.
Yet, these people act like this on a daily basis.
That is why I suspect the Obamas have mental illness.

I wasn't polled on this but this lifelong Texan is totally convinced that Hussein 'Mohammad' Obama is a closet Muslim and further believe that if he is elected he will come out of the closet and announce that he is well on his way to becoming a radicalized Muslim. Surprise, surprise, surprise America.
