For the third time in six weeks, the McCain campaign has to adjust where Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin holds a rally in Virginia because she is proving to be such a big draw.
The campaign announced today that Palin's visit Monday to Salem, located near Roanoke, is being moved from the city's civic center to the Salem Football Field to accommodate the expected crowds. Gail Gitcho, a McCain spokeswoman, said there has been "overwhelming response" for tickets for the event.
Two weeks ago, a Palin rally in Richmond had to be relocated to the parking lot of the Richmond Motor Speedway because of demand to see her. And in early September, a McCain-Palin rally in Fairfax City scheduled for a high school gymnasium had to be moved to a city park after all the tickets were snatched up in hours.
Although many Democrats believe Palin is one reason Obama appears headed for a huge margin in Northern Virginia, she appears to have higher favorable ratings in Virginia then she does nationwide.
In a Washington Post-ABC News tracking poll conducted Wednesday and Thursday evenings, 51 percent of voters nationwide said they have a negative impression of her. But a Mason-Dixon Virginia poll conducted earlier in the week showed just 39 percent of Virginians held a negative view of Palin.

Cheese, what a huge mistake it was picking her. They have to keep rescheduling rallies.
Get with the narrative bub: “She’s a DRAG on the ticket”, NOT “She’s a DRAW for the ticket”!!
Geesh. Did you not get the talking points? I’ll get you in touch with Axelrod, the DNC and MSM.
What a magnificent lady.

A Million Sarah March !!
Sarah was here in Fort Wayne, IN tonight- I couldn’t get tickets to the 12,000 seat coliseum event because they were gone in less than 6 hours. The event was covered live on local TV though, and I’ve got to say she lit it up like no other politician I’ve seen in my 30 years of watching this stuff. Even better than Reagan. And that’s saying something. Sarah is real- and she MEANS it when she says it. The place went insane as you can imagine. Don’t give up America!
Virginia WILL NOT go for Obama.

The WP mentions two rallies on Monday: Loudoun County (Leesburg) and another one in Salem, near Roanoke. There is a third as well in Fredericksburg:

Monday October 27th
Hurkamp Park
500 William Street
Fredericksburg, VA
Doors open at 10:00 a.m.
Come on VA!!!
I will be at the one in Leesburg on Monday.
I can’t wait!!!!
This is Virginia Tech territory and at 5 PM-something, it will be after most classes. I suspect many VA-Tech students may not be as Obama-sstar-struck as the “Rock the Vote” [ACORN] bus hoped or planned.
You lucky battleground state people, your vote matters more and you get to see Sarah.
seriously, Palin is what has kept McCain in this race. Even Mac knows that and he’s not ashamed to admit it.
Either we’re right and McCain is going to win, or somehow we’re all going to feel like that reporter who said she “didn’t know anybody who voted for Nixon”. The only people I personally know voting for Lord Obama is AA’s and one idiot who is sold on “change”.
Get Todd Palin to Virginia coal mines and Obama’s lead will evaporate the next day. What the hell is wrong with Steve Schmidt? He is wasting Todd’s working man appeal. What an idiot Schmidt has turned out to be. His “celebrity” ad was his only bright spot.
SUCH HATE JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU HOW DESPERATE THEY ARE GETTING....
MCCAIN AND SARAH ONWARD TO VICTORY!
I went to the one at the NASCAR track in Richmond! Loved the cross-section of people, especially young women. Lots of enthralled men is a given! I liked seeing her broad appeal. Wear red!
I'm hoping she drags our GOP Senate candidate over the finish line with him!
I watched it on line — she is AWESOME and you can feel it with the crowd. She is generating enthusiasm like I have never seen with a Republican candidate including Pres Reagan. Sarah has taken the Country by storm and it is driving the elitist nuts! She is what America is all about — comes from small town America that is going to win this election for McCain/Palin.
The doors open at 7:00 AM on Monday. What time would you recommend that I get there so I don’t wind up all the way in the back somewhere?
If the doors open at 7, you should definitely be in line by then. I know some of the Richmond people couldn’t see the stage since they were so far back down the field. I was there when the gates opened and was too late for bleacher seating but had a great standing spot. You’ll love it!
I wanted to watch but my live stream kept bugging out. Sounds like she had a great rally!
CITY STREETS CLOSING (Fredericksburg)
Logistics set for Palin rally

City streets surrounding Hurkamp Park will be closed early Monday because of the noon rally for Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
The closings will begin at 7 a.m., when most streets within about two blocks of Hurkamp Park will be closed, Fredericksburg City Manager Phillip Rodenberg said.
Part of Charles Street will be blocked starting at 11 a.m.
Amelia and Hanover streets will be open to through traffic.
Those attending the rally can enter Hurkamp Park at 10 a.m., and Rodenberg said city officials are anticipating that others will fill the streets and sidewalks around the park.
Secret Service and state and local police will be monitoring the crowd.
Fredericksburg Public Works Director Doug Fawcett said downtown visitors and rally-goers will be allowed into the closed street areas on foot, but cars will not be permitted after 7 a.m.
FREDericksburg Regional Transit will be providing additional service Monday because of the rally. The routes and times will remain the same, but the number of buses will be increased.
Campaign officials for the Alaska governor have not said how many they expect to attend the rally, but Rodenberg said the park’s capacity is about 6,000. That’s more, he said, than other venues such as the Fredericksburg Expo Center, which holds 2,400.
Rodenberg added that the city had received multiple questions as to why the rally isn’t being held at Maury Stadium. He said school policy prohibits political events, so it made more sense to host the rally in a public park.
There’s no chance of the rally moving to another venue, Rodenberg said.
Fredericksburg residents can expect to see campaign officials setting up in Hurkamp Park starting today, but most of the work will be done tomorrow, Rodenberg said.
Fawcett said shoppers at the Fredericksburg Farmers Market will still be able to visit Saturday, but the market will be closed Monday for the rally. Rescue calls are run from city fire stations during the day, so the rescue squad stationed next to the park will not be inconvenienced.

It has been said that if McCain wins Virginia and Pennsylvania it may be a short night.
When does it start? the flyer says the gates open at 3:30. Any one know?
If you already have a ticket, you do not need to get a new one. If you would like to get tickets, you can get them at any McCain Victory Center or online at http://virginia.johnmccain.com/Virginia.htm.
“Sarah is real- and she MEANS it when she says it.”
Refreshing isn’t it? Maybe America has finally grown tired of lying politicins. The pendulum swings.
Me, too!
It’s interesting how there is an assumption that college students will automatically vote for Obama/Biden. In addition to the students I know at Virginia Tech, my daughter at Longwood University will cast her absentee ballot for McCain/Palin. Just like most of her friends in her high school graduating class. And that’s not even addressing Liberty University.
This time the Obama students have been very ‘in your face’ and annoyed the rest. Students are busy and feel removed and so it’s up to us to make sure they get those ballots in. Good job raising young conservatives!
Hey, to be fair, it's the first time we've seen anyone since 1964.
