Barack Obama, the first black major party nominee, is positioned to win the largest share of white voters of any Democrat in more than three decades, according to an exclusive Politico analysis of recent Gallup and Pew Research Center polling.
The most recent two weeks of Gallup polling, which includes roughly 13,000 interviews, show 44 percent of non-Hispanic white voters presently support Obama — the highest number for a Democrat since 47 percent of whites backed Jimmy Carter in 1976.
Until the stock market swoon in mid-September, Obama had never reached 40 percent among white voters.
No Democrat has won a majority of white voters since Lyndon Johnson in 1964. John McCain has shuffled between 48 percent and 50 percent support in recent weeks — which would be the lowest share for a Republican candidate in a two-man race since Barry Goldwater's run.
If Obama's share holds, it would top the 43 percent of white voters who backed Bill Clinton in 1996, when the Democrat won a plurality among white females and 38 percent of white men, the best performance by a Democrat in all those categories since 1976.

I have no trouble with 95% of the whites voting for the white guy. After all, all the black guy want to do is take the white guy’s money and give it to the black guy.

Me too, but remember how the polls and all the news coverage by the MSM was designed to convince Republicans that the race was lost to the Dems on the day of the election...so there was no need to go out and vote. Sad reality, this won't be a pluraity election its a one on one race, and while I don't believe these support numbers for one minute, even if they are true they still equal a loss for Fauxbama. Carter squeaked by in 76 and he's not at carter levels, and Clinton won in a 3 way race where the third party too nearly 20% of the vote. The math doesn't add up for Fauxbama folks, and never did.

Well let me be among the first to say I have predicted this nightmare since the very day Obama announced candidacy.
And I don’t mind saying I don’t wish to see this half black Marxist in the White House. The reason is his wild leftist views and associations over time. I personally don’t think the country would easily recover from years of Obama as CIC. Big, big mistake!!
I’m not saying you’re wrong, but why would someone feel obliged to lie to a pollster over the phone line? I don’t think I buy it. I don’t think the polls are neccessarily accurate, but I don’t think they’re off because of the Bradley effect. Hope I’m wrong.

Come to L.A. to find the over 30’s who love love love the Zero — the place is full of them — often lifelong dyed in the wool Dems who can’t wait to vote for the Zero.
I live surrounded by them; don’t say much to them — many are Jewish — they have no interest in or concern for Israel. They are not poor by any stretch — I don’t “get” why they think Zero’s policies are so great, or his associations with Marxists and more -— but they can’t wait to vote for Zero.
It is very disturbing living here, trust me.
I here that. Clinton was able to win a lot of the “Bubba” (Southern white) vote. I sure as he** can’t see Obama doing that. I also don’t think that he will get much of the Rust Belt blue collar white vote that went heavily for Clinton. Loking at that, unless the fraudulent voting in the swing states wins out, I just don’t see him winning.
