Despite most media coverage, the invective and nastiness is -- needless to say -- not just on the Right.
We've written about anti-McCain arson and anti-Palin vileness before, but check out the letters written to the Los Angeles Times after Reason's Matt Welch -- no fan of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. -- defended McCain from the ludicrous charge he's a traitor.
Welch writes that "nothing really prepared me for the volume and tenor of outrage when I dared suggest in a family newspaper that published reports disputing McCain's POW heroism were, in my judgment, incorrect."

Jake might be surprised but I’m not. Liberals generally don’t really believe in the God of right and wrong. They (generally speaking) believe in a vending machine God who “blesses” certain people. Most liberals never say to themselves, “maybe I should not say that” or “maybe I shouldn’t cross that line.”
Yep, they have no moral anchor. Politics is their only religion and ruler of “right and wrong”. It is what allows them, and Barry himself, to believe that he has “suffered” by spending so much time campaigning. It allows them to say Barry suffered while McCain was dishonorable during his time in captivity. Their entire judgment is based upon what it takes to get their guy into office.
For the most part, Jake lied about the hate on the right. Notably the “kill him” hoax. So, now he’s trying to look evenhanded.
But the fact is that violence during elections is common on the left, and relatively rare on the right.
Moreover, McCain promptly disowned any rude comments, whereas Obama just shrugs—because he himself is orchestrating it.
Jake is just feigning interest in the Obama brownshirts. The real reason he even wrote about this was to draw attention to the letters smearing McCain. Why else would he include them?
Tapper secretly agrees with the thugs on the left. They’re his muse.
Democrats ARE the party of HATE. They are the nastiest, meanest, most venomous group in America. Make no mistake if they gain power they will go after everything conservative with an evil intent.
Most on the left are filth.
My biggest fear of Obama being elected is that the media will strive to be as faithful to Barack as Baghdad Bob was to Saddam. So many of them are already practicing for their role in his administration.
