In a video posted Thursday on Funnyordie.com, the actor-turned-director reprises his role on "The Andy Griffith Show" as a way to rally support for Barack Obama.
While speaking into the camera, Howard has his beard shaved, dons a youthful red wig and puts on the kind of outfit he would have only worn as Opie Taylor in the `60s.

Up until about 30 minutes ago, I respected Andy Griffith. Not any more.
It was kind of cute -— seeing Dopey Opie, senile Andy and foolish Fonzy. I'd rather remember all three as they once were, a long time ago, not as they are today.

I studied theater because of Andy Griffith. I saw a stage production Six Characters in Search of an Author and it effected me so much. I thought Andy would be republican. VERY disappointed.

After the cancellation of Matlock, I think Andy is just happy to get work.

Ron Howard is trapped in memories of an America that never existed (a shlocky retro-fifties world) and he made the space program contractors into the villains of the Apollo 13 movie even though NASA officials would were there said that it was entirely wrong to do so (Ron Howard insisted on the “conflict”; nothing but agitprop to insult corporate America).
I knew Winkler and Howard were a couple of Commies but Griffith surprised me. I guess he’s afraid he’ll be called a “racist” if he doesn’t vote for “The One.”

once in a rare while i let my boys watch the Andy Griffith Show... in watching it with them, i have come to learn that if he had any say in the show, he must liberal... if you really pay attention, that show leans left... everything from anti gun to eminent domain...
I’ve listened to interviews with him where he has stated he took a lot of heat from fellow Hollywooders because of the lack of minorities on the AGS.

First off, funnyordie needs to just die off. I’ve seen plenty of videos from that site and none are funny. Don’t waste your time giving their website the hits.
Second, my wife and I went to the Disneyland Hotel after our wedding and the Winkler family was across the hall from us. While downstairs in a bar/restaurant, a friend asked Henry Winkler to take a moment and congratulate us on the wedding. He said no and our friend said “oh yeah? Well f*** you, Fonzie!” Looking back, I always laugh about it.
Yeah, but there was the episode of Andy confronting a father.....insisting on him taking his spoiled, brattish child to the woodshed. My how times have changed.
After all, his talent dwarfs ours. He was the producer of Sightings, remember?
Well I recall a photo realistic comic strip Art Spiegelman’s Raw Magazine by the Friedman brothers (Drew and Josh) where the first black man came to Mayberry (drawn around 1980).
Maybe Andy’s seen it and doesn’t want to go to his grave with people thinking that of him.

Trying to take a break from reading up on political news, I watched one of the Futurama straight to video movies.
Well one guy who pops up again and again in it is Al Gore (PLAYED by the has been), including a time travel segment where votes for Gore are accidently destroyed, yadda yadda yadda.
Enough already. They sure know how to ruin a good thing.
And yes there were a lot of Hollywood Reds who loved Communism, embraced Mao, Castro, Stalin, and the North Vietnamese.
They play roles on the boob tube. The licensing company should consider taking these actors to task for invoking their trademarked characters to endorse a candidate.
I would hope so. Opie's got waaay more money.
I don’t think Andy Taylor would endorse a candidate who palled around with a terrorist who’s group targeted police officers and government buildings and declared war on America and openly rioted and met with enemies of the United States in the Vietnam war.
