Several left-wing blogs are all atwitter about a picture of Sarah Palin from a rally in Reno, Nev., Oct. 21 which shows her wearing a red, white and blue scarf with what appears to be donkeys on it. Anyone know the story behind this? I did a Google search and gave up after 5 pages of left-wing sites commenting on it.
Linked is one example from a site called Jezebel at http://jezebel.com/5067233/is-sarah-palin-making-an-ass-of-herself

You have to look closely but the figures on the scarf are of a female moose.
Those look like horses to me, not donkeys.
I was at the rally and saw it around her neck. However, even though I was close to the front, I didn’t get to see it up close as the crowd was packed like sardines when she was signing autographs. I believe someone knitted it for her and she put it on her neck afterward. I will look through the photos I took and see if I can catch a glimpse of what was on the scarf.
Correction...I thought it was knitted, but upon closer examination it is a satin-type woven scarf. I looked at my close-up pic when she was signing tickets and it is indeed what is shown on the other website.
They look like donkeys/horses. Someone played a dirty trick indeed. Because of how chaotic it was at the end, she probably didn’t get a chance to notice and put it on as a gesture of goodwill. Unfortunate.

Obviously it's from Saks Fifth, and cost $2,900. </sarc>
Did she get that on her big shopping trip to Neiman Marcus?
You obviously know nothing about Alaska. Those are caribou during the off season when they have no antlers, aka horns. During the "ON" season, they have antlers and are thus horny.......
She appeared onstage that day with (I think) 5 PUMAs. The scarf was a gift from a Democrat who is voting for McCain, and she was gracious enough to wear it. As far as I know she was not wearing it when she was onstage, only afterward in the palm-pressing. The photo was posted in Newsweek, and the idiot lefties actually think she is so dim that she does not know her own party mascot. Can you believe it?! I only wish stupid were painful.
Is that what a female moose is called?
Either cow moose, or ‘moosen’.
Do you have a link to a story about that? I can use it for my blog.
“Cow Moose Party” might not be the best name for a new political outfit, even if it evokes Teddy Roosevelt. It would be a good one for Peggy Noonan, though.
Maybe you can find out more info by calling the GOP headquarters in the county where the rally was held. You could scoop this story!
Those are rare PUMA mules, freed from the tyranny of the oppressive Obama-Odinga tribe. They are famous for their motto “Victory Over Tyranny Everywhere” (VOTE)
I’m following some of the P.U.M.A. blogs and find them very “articulate” on their feelings about Zerobama. Some of them would gladly do the Lorena Bobbit procedure on Baaaarrrrraaaccckkk.
Is there any polling on how many will in fact vote McCain-Palin? Do we have any that will admit it on FR?
Maybe Hillary could use "Cow Moose Ankles?"
That’s where all the PUMAs will be voting next cycle.
Does anyone really believe that her aides would let her go onstage dressed in a Democrat scarf? It doesn’t even go with the outfit...much less the party. If this was the speech where the PUMAs and Hillary supporters were on stage with her...it is probable they gave her that scarf showing they support her....and she would have worn it to show she supports them.
We do have some PUMAs & other newly disaffected Dems here on FR. They know that if Barack wins, Hillary will have zero chance of another run at the White House. I think they will not telegraph their intentions when polled, but they know what they have to do.
From Lynette Long, a high-profile PUMA:
"Sarah Palin is good for women. She has kept the debate about women in government and feminism alive. She is helping us define a new brand of feminism that unites both Republican and Democratic women. She has a chance to put a sledge hammer to the ceiling that Hillary Clinton put eighteen million cracks in. I happened to be on an Alaskan Cruise when Governor Palin was nominated for Vice-President. When we docked in Ketchikan my Blackberry was buzzing away with emails shouting, Its a girl. I thought, Who is a girl? My friends are too old to be pregnant and I didnt think my daughter would hold out on me. As soon as I stepped on-shore, my tour guide told me their governor, Sarah Palin was the VP pick. I can testify here today, that every person that I met in Alaska loved her. Alaskans are proud of their Governor."
"I heard many people say they dont think Sarah Palin is ready to be one heartbeat away from the presidency since Alaska has only 750,000 people. Lets get this straight. Sarah Palin is only one of only fifty governors in the entire country. If Alaska was a country, it would be the twentieth largest country in the world. The unique topography, economy, population, and climate of Alaska, all make Alaska a challenging state to govern. Home of the Alaska pipeline, Alaska hosts the majority of our oil resources and some of the largest fiscal projects in the country. Alaska is home to indigenous peoples and remote towns that are not on the electrical grid. Alaska is the only state in the Arctic climate zone and is profoundly impacted by global warming. Alaska is home to diverse wildlife and consequently management issues. International relations are a major issue Alaska and Im not talking about cab drivers. Alaska shares a border with Canada and ten miles across the Bearing Strait is Russia. Consequently it has a standing National Guard. I dont want to hear Sarah Palin is only governor of Alaska. There is nothing only about Alaska."
