Palin Supports McCain’s Plan for Amnesty for ILLEGALS

Palin addresses issues on television interview

Republican Vice Presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin addressed issues yesterday relating to Latin America, including Hugo Chavez and illegal immigration, in her first interview with a Spanish-language network. The interview began with Univision anchor, Jorge Ramos asking Palin to clarify recent statements she and Republican Presidential candidate John McCain have made, characterising Senator Barack Obama’s tax proposals as “socialist”. Palin denied ever having called Obama a socialist directly.

The interview quickly turned to US nemesis, leftist Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who has repeatedly claimed the US is planning to attack Venezuela. However, Palin said military action was a last resort. “We hate war. We want peace. “We want through negotiation and sanctions if need be to put pressure on a dictator like Hugo Chavez, to let them see that they will not mess around with America the way that they want to,” she said.

The governor also addressed illegal immigration, saying she and McCain supported a two-pronged approach of securing the border and then working with undocumented workers already in the US.

“There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants.

“We - our policy - John McCain has been so clear with his policy and it makes a lot of sense too.

“We secure our borders first. But then with a comprehensive approach we must deal humanely with those who are here, and we must allow the steps to be taken to protect the families of those who are here, maybe as illegal immigrants today,” she said.

McCain has made an effort to reach out to Latino voters, a constituency that could prove key in swing states in November’s election. Latino support for the Republican Party ebbed earlier this year following a bruising battle over illegal immigration. - Reuters

I don’t care. After all the trashing the woman has endured from the media, including blantant misrepresentation of what she said or what others have said about her, I will have to hear her say what her position is on immigration after the election.

I will not throw Sarah under the bus.

This is way bigger than ANWAR. This is McCain’s showpiece issue. She’d no more disagree with him on this than she would McCain/Feingold.

Yopu won't have to. She did that all by herself, with instructions written by Juan McCain.

I had heard that the Hispanics as a group were the least likely to default on their mortgages. Sorry I can’t cite a source without further research.

Kick them all out and our housing prices might recover in 25 years. Unless we tripled or quadrupled our legal immigration numbers.

Not to mention that dumping people somewhere in Mexico would necessarily involve an outright violation of the sovereignity of Mexico.

Think they would like that? Do you want to push a bordering country straight into the arms of Chavez, Castro, Putin, et al?

Obama will appoint radical activists to the Federal bench, including SCOTUS.

McCain won’t.

Obama will raise taxes in order to redistribute wealth according to his preferences.

McCain will not.

Obama will emasculate our Armed Forces and embolden our enemies.

McCain will not.

That is sufficient reason for me to vote McCain. (Already did so here in Georgia).

Remember this quote from “The Godfather”

Clemenza: “And I hate that Go___mn Barzini. In six months time there won’t be nothin’ left to build on.”

Go ahead and crack up all you want.

Unfortunately, there are many people in the Republic who would sooner stand idly by as Barack Obama and Louis Farrakhan get their hands on US taxpayer dollars.

There are people in our Republic who have no problem at all with Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright and ACORN influencing policy decisions and LAWS in America.

That said, I am not a fan of amnesty, but what choice do we have in the matter?

I will do everything in my power to fight Obama and his communists, terrorists, thugs and criminals.

They are enemies to Americans everywhere.

The damage that Obama will do to America will be irreparable.

Why not? She disagrees with McCain about drilling in ANWR, she disagrees with McCain over the gay marriage amendment, so why not continue supporting the ‘conservative’ position on Amnesty unless it is not your own?

Because her position was widely known BEFORE she was selected and can’t change them now without looking stupid. She had no public position on Amnesty before.
By all means, VOTE OBAMA....

Pandora's Box was opened on the immigration issue decades ago. It is nothing short of fantasy to think that the damage can be completely reversed. At best, it can stemmed and contained. No credible politician would say anything else.

She answered NO when asked if she favored amnesty.

Well I read that she said not total Amnesty, so she favors partial Amnesty? Did you also read where she reportedly says this,

“We - our policy - John McCain has been so clear with his policy and it makes a lot of sense too."

And we know McCain's stance on this.

Lets not get too upset about this. We can fight on it later if the subject comes up again. The article points out that “we must first secure our borders”. With all the enviro-waco lawsuits, does anyone see the borders being secure in the near future??

Just a thought: If we did round up all the illegals and send them back to Mexico, what would be the impact on the mortgages they all hold in the American banking system? I’m assuming that not ALL of them have defaulted yet.

If they haven't defaulted yet, then that must mean that they are able to make the payments, which means they must be making good money. So, if they are making good money, they must be working for good companies. I think their leaving would be offset by the very heft fines imposed on the companies that had hired them, so, there shouldn't be much impact. jmo

I went to the Duncan D. Hunter debate last night and he was GREAT. He was tough, had the facts, defended his father, and named names as far as the economy mess goes. His opponent was a jerk. He said an “unofficial” poll shows he’s 3 points ahead of Hunter. I’m praying that’s not true.

Palin's stock just plummeted 1000 points.

[Of course, she has to say she supports McCain's view on the subject, but we all know what his view is. McCain's position on illegals is little different from Obama's.]

That secure the border line is a crock. It means that the respective border governors have to 'say' their borders are secure.

Would Richardson or Arny or the gov of Az or the gov of Tx claim their borders are unsecure?

Of course not!

The secure the border line is just more of the same ole shellgame that has been going on for years.

Obama will appoint radical activists to the Federal bench, including SCOTUS. McCain won’t.

According to whom? MccAin't? The leader of the Gang of 14, who held up federal appointments for eight years now and caused the backlog? Foolishness. The SCOTUS is lost. MccAin't has no love for the Pro-Life movement and will certainly not appoint Conservatives to the bench.

Obama will raise taxes in order to redistribute wealth according to his preferences. McCain will not.

Again, according to whom? Who is paying for the "doubling of the child tax credit"? Who is going to pay for the socialist half of his health program? Or are we gonna borrow that from China too?

Obama will emasculate our Armed Forces and embolden our enemies. McCain will not.

He sure as hell is emboldening every socialist moron from south of the border to come a runnin', and as been providing aid and comfort to the liberal democrats for years... Those are enemies too.

When a nuke goes off, or a bio bomb, in NYC or LA, or SanFran, and it is proven that the thing was smuggled in over that damnable southern border- You know, the one the Republicans killed the money for Hunters fence on... When THAT happens, maybe then you'll have a clearer view of who is right and who is wrong.

Silly Republican idiocy. The hypocrisy it takes to look past the character of this vile bastard and try to paint him a Conservative, or even as palatable, is just far beyond the pale.

Sarah’s answer seems to leave that option on the table. Don’t worry.

She was talking to Univision for Pete’s Sake. What was she going to say? You get the helicopter, I’ll get the net? We need Nevada and Colorado - let’s play the politics for the next two weeks and then we can talk principles. The immigration situation isn’t going to get any worse between now and 11/5.

Correct! As much as I despise McCain's stance on illegals (and apparently Palin's stance as well), there are several critical issues with which we cannot lose focus. Foreign policy, the second amendment, taxes, redistribution of our STOLEN wealth, socialism - all are big issues, and this country cannot afford to let that little communist Obambi into the White House.
