What is up with Fox News?
I Made This Up. | 22OCT'08 | mapmaker77

Posted on 10/22/2008 5:34:14 PM PDT by mapmaker77

I gave up on network news channels back in the '80s. I enjoyed CNN at the start and thought that they did a credible job for several years. They really pi$$ed me off during the '94 campaign when their political guru Bob Franken called the Republican agenda,(the contract for America), The contract on America. That was pure political propaganda. It has gotten much worse since then.

Which brings me to my point, The only reasonably unbiased news organisation on the planet has decided that zero is going to win because of polls? I haven't been polled in 15 years. I'll bet a lot of real Americans haven't been polled. The only poll that matters is 4 Nov. Lets take Mac and Sarah to the next level!

I can not believe you haven’t been polled! I was being called at least once a day...with push polls, real polls, robocalls....in the last 3 federal elections, while I was in two different states, and had an unlisted phone number!

How do you get out of it?

Fox has gotten to be too smiley faced for me.....they have weak reporters.....they run weak stories, not complete stories....

Fox business could go the same way if they aren't careful....

they had some really good field reporters at the beginning of the war.....their names escape me.( Leventhal?)..but now it seems they rely on some basic twits and blonde haired women that practically look identical....

I've been polled 3 times this year. I wasn't within the sample group they were looking for (age) in another, but my 20 something son was, so he took the poll. I was polled 4 years ago & I was also polled during the Clinton impeachment. My phone number must be in someones speed dial.

FOX seems to get more liberal as the day goes on. They peak at about 9 AM. Brit and his panel have all buried McCain, although Shep Smith did at least mention the tight AP poll on his 7 PM broadcast.

I think it’s a result of some kind of corporate directive to be nice to what they view will be the next administration. After all, Rupert Murdoch has been a big supporter of Hillary in the past.

Well they have that phony retard BOR on plus some CNN rejects and in an attempt to seem fair and balanced they show the intelligent and cogent point of view of the McCain campaign with the drivel and lies of the Obamotons. Like equating Jesus with Satan...hey dummies we have correct and incorrect, you don’t report crap to seem fair. Problem with journalist in general, like lawyers they see shades of grey when it’s pitch black.

Fox started out fine, then degenerated into a tabloid network, obsessed with dead, missing or abused persons. Now Murdoch is covering himself, worried Obama will take the licenses of his broadcast stations.

I agree with these general sentiments. Brit and the “all stars” (pardon me, while I barf!) completely buried McCain and Palin - yet again - in spite of several polls showing the race tightening. Not even a mention of the poll disparities.
I think Fox has jumped the shark. Perhaps they need to be taught a lesson - a reminder, if you will, of how they got so successful in the first place. Namely, the huge conservative base in this country just turning off CNN and the MSM and viewing Fox as an alternative. As they spiral down into the MSM cesspool, the sound old Rupert’s going to hear is that of clickers around the country switching them off. Let’s see how Rupert enjoys having his potential wealth “spread around”.

I watched a few minutes of Neil Cavuto this evening. He had Imus on and both were insisting John McCain was grumpy and grouchy this morning on Imus show.

I heard that show and McCain was laughing in Imus’ face and was really not letting him attack Sarah.

That Cavuto would go along with the big lie was sickening.

As far as I am concerned there is no fair or balanced media outlet in America.

Boy, you got that right. Unless there's some big breaking news, I don't watch them. If it's big new about government, I tend to go to CSpan & stop watching that after they start to take callers.

Now Murdoch is covering himself, worried Obama will take the licenses of his broadcast stations.

I agree.

I'm glad you wrote that. I was beginning to think I was living in Bizarro World. Fox News ALWAYS leads with and highlights the polls that show Obama furthest ahead.

On the other hand, Lou Dobbs just opened his show by stating that the polls are showing a much closer race. Why does Brit Hume ignore these polls? Seriously, what's wrong with the Fox News bunch lately?

IMO, CNN`s reporting of the Gulf War was the last straw for conservatives. It was a long five years until Fox News started broadcasting. All we had in between was Roger Ailes cable outlet, America’s Talking. The forerunner of msnbc.

People get way too upset about Fox News. Folks have to take the good with the bad. Half the time Fox News does a good job, 1/4 of the time they do an average job and the last 1/4 is sub-par. But 95% of the time FNC is better then CNN and 99% of the time better then msnbc.

Y’all are late to the party. Fox hasn’t been worth watching for at least a year. Last one I gave up on was Brit. Hannity and lizardhead put me completely off at least three years ago (unless I heard that the skinny blonde conservobabalishious was going to be on).

I don’t listen to Hannity on the radio either. He needs to learn some other speaking method and decible level besides blasting rant. A little entertainment would be nice from time to time as well. Its funny really. Rush shows them all how to do it and they just don’t learn.

What many people don’t know is that Al Walid bin Talal, the Saudi prince worth 20 billion who financed Khalid Al Mansour and Obama’s education, bought a large stake in NewsCorp.

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/10/billionaires08_Prince-Alwaleed-Bin-Talal-Alsaud_0RD0.html

Notice that nobody in the media will touch this guy. He is the one funding these Arab Student groups across the US colleges, including endowing 20 million to both Harvard and Georgetown for Islamic studies departments; and also the “Sharia in the USA” conference at Georgetown university [http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/5689].

Look at how violent the Obama supporters are. Geeze! If the pollster has the phone number, he very well may have the address too.

Now, he is as bad as Bill Press as far as bias goes.

Franken is a stool for the DNC (yes, a "stool", which is lower than a "tool", if you get my drift)....

The talking heads in all of the Washington and New York news rooms live in a bubble. They only talk to “insiders,” the anointed and each other. They have no perspective other than the “conventional wisdom” of the beltway/Wall Street axis. Plus, they are afraid of not getting invited to all of the “correct” cocktail parties. After all, that’s really where the true heart of our nation lies, or so they believe.

Washington must be emptied and restocked with real live Americans on a regular schedule. There should be a fixed time limit on anyones presence in that pest hole.

In a truly free market, Wall Street will clean out its own dead wood.

It’s past time for a nationwide movement to force these news organizations to at least try to be more balanced in their coverage - with the internet and imaging technology avilable now, it should be relatively easy to form a cadre of interested players - and on the internet it should be possible to assemble significant numbers - who could review the most outrageous instances of biased reporting, perhaps take an online vote on which was the outrage of the week, and then bombard the offending network or outlet with e-mails threatening to boycott all sponsors of the news or other out-of-bounds program - followed by a week of actual boycotts of the products for starters - just an ideal to maybe get people to start thinking, with more concrete followup after this election is over.........
