RE: “i always wondered why my tv-viewing democrat friends liked him so much!”

My (now deceased) Republican father never did trust Powell, ever. He was adamant that he would make a terrible President when many were touting Powell for the job. Now I get it.

RE: “He was presented by the Daley Machine as a Senatorial candidate, then they drove all the other candidates out of the race by publishing things like ugly divorce records, etc. Now why did the Daley Machine run Obambi as first a candidate for the State, then the Federal, Senate? Like Joe Biden said: He’s clean, he’s articulate (and he’s a black socialist). OK, he didn’t say that last part but he thought it.”

“Without the help of the Daley Machine, Obambi would have an office next to Bill Ayers and be teaching classes on Black Power and Socialist theology at the U. of Chicago and kissing Jeremiah Wright’s donkey every Sunday.”

******

Fabulous post! You nailed it —

But, last I heard J.C. was voting for Obama too!

And he paved the way, by supporting a corrupt democratic black candidate in New York:

Colin Powell DSIGRACED himself by not telling Patrick Fitzgerald about Dick Armitage being the Plame “leaker”. He made Libby and Cheney go thru HELL.......what a lousy creep.....and a DISLOYAL CREEP at that!

Powell seems to have lost any ability for reasoning logically. In his statement, he lists one of the reasons for not endorsing McCain was his selection of Sarah Palin. Inexperience matters to Powell in the VP candidate, but not in the Presidential candidate. He takes pains to say that Obama will be OK as president despite his thin resume because of good advisors.

We get it:

Palin’s inexperience = bad.
Obama’s inexperience = good.

An endorsement from Joe the Plumber is worth much , much more than the endorsement of a political transvestite like powell .

“Sorry, doesn’t cut it. It’s the black thing, for sure.”

It’s that, but it could also be a misogyny thing.
Powell made sure we all knew that the selection of Palin sent him over the edge.

McCain’s team should wonder out loud why Powell didn’t endorse Hillary.
Why he dislikes Palin so much.

“Palin’s inexperience = bad.
Obama’s inexperience = good.”

LOL!

When you look at it from a chauvenist point of view it could also read like this...

Palin’s superior executive experience and proven track record = insignificant.

Obama’s complete lack of accomplishments = “transformational”

But why did Powell not support the social liberals before? It is ironic he jumps now, especially with how dangerous Obama is in his world view and on military matters. No doubt Powell was always more socially liberal, but the way I see it is that the race issue is the overwhelming piece of evidence in turning Powell to this endorsement and betrayal. There really is no there there. Powell has sold his soul.

“George Bush is a lousy judge of character.”

He’s probably no better or worse than most of us.
The problem seems to be that when a character flaw does become visible - he won’t cut the ties.

“One part of the RINO legacy that forced me to abandon the party this year.”

Please come back to the party post-election. the RINOs have outed themselves with Obama and we’ll need your help to push them out.

WOW. YOU ARE RIGHT!

If Scottie McClellan could stab his old pals in the back for a chunk of change, why not career opportunist Colin Powell?
