Excellent post. You have hit the nail squarely on its head.
The black “culture” (?) always put themselves before America. It may not be long before everyone has a very rude awakening to who are the real racists and deniers of OUR freedom.

What Powell has done, quite unintentionally, is to confirm the worst fears of white America: that for blacks, race is everything.

Exactly.

I think Powell ruined his credibility when he vouched for Ted Stevens. So, no harm done.

Besides, I hate to burst everyone’s bubble, because we all liked him so much...but he was a horrible leader, in State. Talk about a bad temper! He often lost his cool, and yelled insults at employees.

To underestimate how important it is to people of color, that a black man will finally be in the White House, is the biggest mistake that we can make. It is a yearning that we just don't understand, and can not appreciate.

Just think, only 50 years ago...when Obama’s parents were kids, black people could not even drink out of the same drinking fountain! We cannot wrap our hearts and minds around that. It isn't about slavery, it is about not being able to sit where you want on a bus, because white people got the best seats....not because of their character, but because of their skin color.

We can not imagine what it feels like to be a young man, a nice young man, who, sees fear in the eyes of young women, just because of the color of his skin.

We do not know the hope they feel for Obama, because if he wins, then maybe those same young women who fear the black man, will suddenly realize that he isn't a danger, just because he is black. He could be President!

This is very emotional and important to black people.

But, just think how horrible it will be, when this man, Barack Obama wins, just because of his color, and he ruins our country with his Marxism. If we manage to keep the vote, never again will a black person win the White House! In truth, Obama isn't going to be the great leader they are looking for. He is intolerant and selfish. He is arrogant and elitist. He is a marxist. He will ruin our free country, and usher in tyranny. He has already shown that he will not be questioned.

Ultimately Obama will ruin progress for black people in this country.

Now if we could just get Bush to endorse Obama, we might win!

He didn't backstab anybody. The fact is, that Powell and Bush had a tremendous dislike for each other. Bush Sr. and Powell had a great deal of respect for each other. But, not JR and Powell!

Bush offered him the State department, as a payoff for endorsing him. Bush needed the votes. He wanted Condi to have that post all along, but knew that Powell carried a great deal of popularity with him, and Condi needed experience.

There were no tears when Powell left. On either side.

The reasons Powell quoted for his “conversion” were so patently bogus, any fool would see them as just stupid. They have been debunked so many times no one else gives them any credence. Even the “in the tank” MSM have foregone most of them! The only conlusion left is one of naked racism. Powell chose Obama because he saw their skin color as the ultimate “political issue” in common.

Shame on Colin Powell! I hope all those young white boys he led, or sent, into battle, the ones who didn't make it, haunt him forever. The cruelest question of all: Did he sacrifice them in order to spare those who shared his skin color? Is skin color, after all, the ultimate “human issue”?

I find myself in full agreement with your sentiments.

Here’s the way I put it on another thread:

“If Powell can get up there and spout the crap he did with a straight face, everyone ought to be entitled to engage in the same sort of same sort of race-based self-justification without shame or embarrassment of any kind.”

It is as I have said before, most probably, the cruelest joke ever played on the American voter. For the Democrats to choose for their candidate, not a good qualified black person, but a totally unqualified, racist, socialist, Chicago Daly machine BLACK candidate, is absolutely the cruelest, most disingenuous, trick ever played on voters, black OR white.

I have waited my whole life to vote for a black person for President. I don't think it is to much to ask that they be honest, even handed, forthright, qualified, moral candidates. I see black folks, even politicians, who meet these qualifications everyday!

I would have voted for J. C Watts in a heartbeat!

RE: “That doesn’t make sense..why did Powell give money to McCain when it was thought that Hillary was the candidate? She’s more liberal...she’s pro-abortion. Sorry, doesn’t cut it. It’s the black thing, for sure”

**************

I agree with you. Most blacks appear to me to be far more racist than most whites these days. Whites have been going crazy in their attempts to be inclusive and non-racist for decades now. Personally, I’m sick of the sham. People need to face the fact that there will always be racism, sexism, ageism, etc.
