That is the McCain campaign not the Obama Campaign. They believe that the McCain is going to lose independents because of this endorsement. This is not good, but then again these are dumb polls anyway.

My dad had Powell pegged in Gulf War 1. He said this guy was a phony ridding on the coattails of Stormin’ Norman. He was not wrong then and is not wrong now.

If the endorsement was expected how can it help? People expected it because Powell is black (affirming a stereotype). People is stoopid.

I don’t think of him as a weasel, but as a narcissistic touch-me-not princess dispensing a rare favor to her court.

Unfortunately, just another bad pick by President Bush.

“I don’t think of him as a weasel, but as a narcissistic touch-me-not princess dispensing a rare favor to her court.”

I have a ham radio friend. He is a ‘keep up with the Jones’ type and is always buying new equipment. Of course he always asks for suggestions from his peers as to what they would recommend.

He invariably picks the one that is least recommended. Then 6 mos. to a year later he is in the market again.

Very odd mentality. Same w/ Powell.

Something like 63% of those who voted in the poll were not surprised. How sad that an ex-General who worked for Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43 would not endorse the fellow serviceman and (supposedly) his party's standard bearer in a time of war?

Looks like people see this as racial motivated by Powell. Heck, there was chatter that he was going to endorse Kerry in 2004 but that never panned out.

Especially after he gave $2,300 to McCain and $1,000 to the Republican Leadership Council this election cycle.

It was obvious that he was a dirtbag....he lost all respect from military quarters after stabbing GWB in the back over Iraq after he left and leaking intel like a seive to the drive-by media.

Powel’s endorsement is nothing to brag about and will drive him further into irrelevancy when THAT ONE loses.
