Not only do I predict that John McCain will lose to Obama in a landslide, but that McCain will also lose his Senate seat in Arizona because he ran an incompetent campaign and will soon disappear from the political landscape. ~ Michael Savage's radio show, Oct. 6, 2008
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? (Who will guard the guardians?)
~ Plato, "The Republic" (question to Socrates)
As we approach the November elections, I like many conservatives am in a state of impending angst. I am convinced during these perilous times that without the Bible, WorldNetDaily and the Michael Savage radio show to comfort me, I would be certifiable for the asylum by now.
Last Monday, while listening to Dr. Michael Savage perform one of his brilliant impromptu monologues, he made the following statement, which I will paraphrase in the following manner: "Not only do I predict that John McCain will lose to Obama in a landslide, but that McCain will also lose his Senate seat in Arizona because he ran an incompetent campaign and will soon disappear from the political landscape."
As he spoke these words, I felt a burning in my heart like I was listening to a prophet of ancient Israel. While I hoped he was wrong, I knew deep down in my soul that Savage was right. But who's listening? Certainly not the McCain campaign.

Seems like only yesterday there was a re-call petition going around. If it had been successful someone else would be the republican nominee.
Savage is off his meds again, I see.
It takes quite a candidate to lose a non-existent race.
Good article .
McCain == Dole.
Neither wanted to win very much.
Typical crap from Savage.
Oh yeah, right.
And the last time I tuned into (and out of) his show, he was in the middle of an anti-Iraq rant.
Sure, Mike, whatever you say.
Speaking of McCain losing his senate seat, I’m not in favor of term limits, but I would be in favor of a “resign to run” rule.
That was such a cheerful article. /sarc.
The difference between Dole and McCain is that McCain will win.
Dole didn’t have Sarah Palin either.
Oh yes, and Savage predicted near-apocalypse before Y2K.
They said we were going to lose in 2000 and 2004 with all the same complaints and curses. So what makes 2008 any different?
Well, he doesn’t say McCain will lose it this year, but it is probably part of one of his rants where he gets carried away!
Savage missed that one by a mile.
Not a chance McCain loses his seat.
That would be quite an achievement!
Yup. I remember how horrible the Dole campaign was. No fire in his belly to become President.
I heard somewhere today that McCain wants to lose “honorably”, if he in fact does lose. It’s like it’s a personal thing with him.
It’s great that he’s putting out the Bill Ayers/ACORN/Rev. Wright stories, but what is he proposing he will do for the country, especially regarding the economic problems we face? Put a committee together, start naming some potential Cabinet members, propose SOMETHING! But don’t just run on the negatives. Aren’t we the ones who kept telling the dems that THEY couldn’t just run on Bush-bashing the last time around?
Every pudit in the world has opined as to what McCain should do to try to turn this thing around. Insted, I heard today that he plans to turn “feisty”. Great. Just what we need, something to draw more attention to his age!
I predict...
Obama will admit he is in love with Larry Craig.
...will admit he grows his own weed.
...admits he is a sock puppet for George Soros.
...the Bears will win the Superbowl this year.
and
...that George Bush will declare martial law and make himself king.
You beat me too it. I never really figured out that he has a true medical problem until one day during last year’s war in Lebanon when he began a verbal assault on Israel the likes of which I have never heard. That did it for me. Now when I listen I turn to a Hannity rerun if he is off the meds.
GW didnt want to win much either. He was dumb, and just seemed to want give up.
McCain will win, and it will be because of Palin.
This is encouraging because Savage is wrong 98% of the time.
Savage is an idiot.
Who cares what Michael Weiner has to say, the guy who thought Sarah Palin’s selection was a mistake and who gave money to Gov. Moonbeam’s campaign in 2006. He’s a fraud.
“couldnt just run on Bush-bashing the last time around?”
You are correct. BOTH have to be done. Expose Borat Hussein and tell us what you are going to do yourself to correct the country’s problems..
No mas McCain ... he’s over folks, at least according to a ABC/Washington Post poll ... that has the ‘Messiah’ up by 10 points. Fold up your tents and go home ...
“...the Bears will win the Superbowl this year.”
LOL!!!!!
“Seems like only yesterday there was a re-call petition going around. If it had been successful someone else would be the republican nominee.”
My wife and I did what we could (we signed it).
LLS
You mean GHWB, right? (in '92)
I favor Term Limits so I’d be happy to see McCain lose his seat. But I want him to lose it in the GOP Primary, not in a general election to another @ssclown socialist like Janet Napolitano, et al.
You read that wrong. It doesn’t say this year.
No comparison to Dole...Dole was running against a known quantity...WHO WAS WHITE.
I think Savage is an interesting and intelligent man but he gets so whacked out sometimes! I can’t take it - I listen to Mark Levin now.
McCain’s not running the campaign that I would like to see—heck McCain’s not even the candidate I would like to see, but he is the Republican ticket right now and I think he can still pull it off. Of course, we all have known about Obama and his radical friends and ways for many, many months now, but some in America are just learning about these things. It’s not too late and there is still a chance.
Savage has the brains of a blind squirrel. However, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
Hot dog is only likes himself and his a$$hole buddy
Jerry Brown.
This article is complete nonsense.
McCain is no bargain, but his opponent is a communist, Muslim, illegal alien, so John’s got a good chance anyway. As Rush says, we may have to drag him over the finish line.
All Democrats and Defeatists please get lost! Begone! Vamoose!
He’s just being Savage. The man is trying to provoke McCain into acting like he really wants to be president. It is being reported the Senator said he will kick some butt in the next debate. Words are cheap. The first time McCain goes into the “I know how to.....” dialog I’m gonna turn him off and run one of my old war movies. Unless something unforeseen happens I will vote the McCain ticket, but my vote is really for Gov. Palin.
It is truly embarrassing to see this once formidable man stumble his way through this campaign. He’s lucky he drew the Marxist Onada, because Hillery would have kicked his a**.
I don’t know. Maybe if we all worked for Sarah Palin a few hours each week, maybe we could make a big difference?
And no I did not misspeak. Mac was not my first choice. But now he is my only choice. I work hard for the campaign not because I want him to win, but because I so much want the the other guy to lose and for Sarah to get a national office to propel her further.
“Savage then did a masterful analysis of the current congressional hearing of Lehman CEO Richard S. Fuld Jr. who received $350 million in compensation just since 2000, including a $20 million bonus shortly before for bankrupting Lehman Brothers, a once-vaunted investment bank on Wall Street that has existed for almost 160 years!”
Dis-gust-ing.
By the way, Ellis Washington for President!
Same with his father.
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand...
W.B. Yeats
Mac wasn’t my candidate either - in fact I was resigned to at least 4 years of misery until he picked Sarah.
I was for Fred but even I have to admit he didn’t act like he really wanted it. I honestly don’t know who we had who would have done better than McCain/Palin - and note that I include Sarah because it’s unlikely that any of the other candidates would have picked her. We just didn’t have a really great candidate until Sarah came along .....and she is stuck with dancing with the one who brung her.
