The most persistent falsehood about Senator Barack Obama's background first hit in 2004 just two weeks after the Democratic convention speech that arguably set him on the path to his presidential candidacy: "Obama is a Muslim who has concealed his religion."
That statement was contained in a press release and it spun a complex tale about the alleged ancestry of Obama, who is Christian.
The press release was picked up by the conservative FreeRepublic.com Web site and spread virally and steadily as others elaborated on its claims over the years in e-mail messages, Web sites and, ultimately, books. It continues to be an engine that drives other false rumors about Obama's background to this day, with one finding national, public voice on Friday, when a woman told Senator John McCain at a town-hall-style meeting, "I have read about him," and "he's an Arab." McCain corrected her.

But an appearance in a documentary-style program on the Fox News Channel watched by three million people last week thrust the man, Andy Martin, and his past into the foreground.

Theories about Obama's background have taken on a life of their own. But every independent analyst seeking the origins of the cyberspace attack winds up back at Martin's first press release, posted on the Free Republic Web site in August 2004.

"Martin gets credit for the idea of, call it 'the sound bite narrative mien,"' said Danielle Allen, a professor at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University who has investigated the e-mail campaign's circulation and origins. Why is it bad for actual Christians to be Christian, but when Obama, who although he may not actually be Muslim, definitely has Muslim tendencies, or is at least Muslim curious, claims to be Christian, it is all streamers and confetti?

Andy Martin, under his former name Anthony R. Martin-Trigona, was not a credible person to either conservatives or liberals in Chicago. He was a gadfly like Sherman Skolnick, but quite angry.
However, I think that Obama’s muslim past is one of perhaps 16 serious issues of concealment that should have been broadcast to the electorate ad nauseum and should disqualify him before the electorate:
1. He lied about having being raised as a Muslim.
2. He tried to present himself as having been raised in Hawaii, when in fact he was raised in Indonesia.
3. He probably lied about where he was born and has failed to provide a birth certificate or other demonstrability ability to be President under the US constitution and federal law.
4. He concealed details of his trip to Pakistan and his citizenship at various times throughout his life.
5. He lied about the extent of his relationship with Bill Ayres.
6. He lied about the extent of his involvement with ACORN.
7. He concealed details of his job as a community activist.
8. He concealed his role with the Annenberg Foundation.
9. He lied about his role with the Woods Foundation.
10. He lied about the extent of his involvement with the former heads of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
11. He has concealed his college and law school transcripts, his application to practice law in Illinois and his list of clients as a practicing attorney.
12. He lied about being known by any names other than Barack Obama.
13. He lied about his membership in the New Party in Chicago.
14. He never adequately explained why he decided to move to Chicago after law school and start his political career here.
15. He lied about his involvement with Rev. Wright.
16. He concealed his grandmothers, making them unavailable to the news media.

However, in contrast to traditional Marxism, it emphasizes race rather than class. The Christian notion of "salvation" in the afterlife is superseded by "liberation" on earth, courtesy of the establishment of a socialist utopia.

It’s not some odd coincidence that his name sounds like a Muslim name. He has that name because he came from a Muslim family and background, one that he has proudly revisited. So it is not some crackpot theory.
Muslims, who would consider him below contempt or even killable-at-will if they believed him to have truly renounced Islam, have been amazingly welcoming and supportive of him.
I don’t know enough to argue whether he is in fact Muslim, but it’s certainly a reasonable question, especially while we are in a global fight against Islamic terror. The reason for allowing only natural-born citizens to be President was (obviously) to avoid even the chance of such a potentially divided loyalty.

Actually every time he looks in a mirror, Obama sees “god”.

He (Wright) graduated from Howard University and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English with a focus on African spirituals. At the University of Chicago Divinity School, he earned another masters degree in the history of religions WITH A FOCUS ON ISLAM.

Muslim Farrakhan is revered by Trinity church.
A documented article stated an ex-Muslim called them and asked Trinity if, as a Muslim, he could join. They said yes, they had many Muslims.
I read or heard somewhere that he the Obamas don’t buy Xmas presents for their children. What does anybody else know about this?
Obama’s having pledged allegiance to the Black Value System raises serious issues.
He pledged allegiance to it when he joined Trinity- as all members are required to do.
He may have ‘disavowed’ Wright (in a pig’s eye) but he has NOT disavowed the Black Liberation Theory.
