President George W. Bush is choking on a pretzel in the White House and falls from a sofa. Saddam Hussein is there with him. Later Bush flies on a magic carpet over Baghdad as he bombs the city. Eventually Saddam returns to the White House to scream insults at him. These were actual sequences that were originally in Oliver Stone's 'W.' movie which is opening this Friday. However, since they were finally cut from the movie, Stone is now patting himself on his back for his forbearance. Even funnier than that dopey fantasy scene that Stone cut is his self-evaluation in this money quote about not taking political sides that appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times (emphasis mine):
The controversial director is feeling the heat from what certainly will be the most talked-about film of 2008, but Stone is someone who never lets them see him sweat.
Days away from his "W." opening at the multiplex, Stone is mulling over if and when the real commander-in-chief will see the biography Stone directed about his life.
"I think in this present political state, the real George W. Bush might not approve of this movie," says Stone with a wry grin. "But this movie tries to understand George W. Bush -- the good, the bad and the ugly.
"I tried to be fair and balanced and compassionate," Stone adds. "I don't take sides. I don't take political sides. I'm a dramatist, and this is the movie I've made."
Got that? The leftwing Stone doesn't take political sides despite the fact that 'W.' portrays Bush as nothing much more than a dissolute drunkard who disappoints his father as you can see in this reality challenged trailer. Here is the movie summary by the Sun-Times' Cindy Pearlman:

PING!
He doesn’t take sides? That’s the best laugh I’ve had in days!
Another libtarded flop..
Leftists can look you in the eye, smile, not blink, and lie.
>>>”I tried to be fair and balanced and compassionate,” Stone adds. “I don’t take sides. I don’t take political sides. I’m a dramatist, and this is the movie I’ve made.” <<<
And sharks don’t crap in the sea, and PETA is a good source for recommendations on where to get a good steak. How can that wazoo aperture say he doesn’t take political sides with a straight face?
And I'm the king of Siam...
Making the movie before the person (President George Bush) has passed away IS taking a political side, you moron.
I am glad it’s coming out. According to Byran York, Fahrenheit 911 actually helped Bush in 2004.
I saw Stone briefly on the larry King show this past week and King tried to say it was a sympathetic portrayal of Bush. It’s an Oliver Stone movie so we know right off the bat it will be truth-challenged. His Nixon movie was amusing to say the least.
I wonder how he managed to keep a straight face.
Politics aside, the movie is an embarrassing piece of work.
I saw the preview a couple of days ago. He appears to go after the Bush family. Wonder if there are grounds for libel? Hmmmm....
On what planet, Stone?
OH MY GOSH, that is sooooo kool! Can I borrow?
With the economy sputtering along like it is, who has ten bucks a ticket (or more) to waste on the likes of Oliver Stone?
If anything, go see “An American Carol”...
The ads for this movie suggest to me that it is an over-the-top parody ala the Police Squad movies or Scary Movie. It gives no indication whatsoever of a researched biography.
Frighteningly enough, I’ve already had liberals tell me that it “looks good” and am sure they will think it is frame for frame based upon absolute historical fact.
Hate doesn’t require logic, dignity or common sense. This movie is proof of that.
Stone also neglects the Harvard MBA earned by “W”. Minor oversight, I suppose. I can’t wait to see his movie covering Obama. He can call it “The Missing 20 Years of O”, to maintain a similar thematic. The lead goes to _________?
Generally, since Bush is a public figure, it’s going to be a very tough road to prove libel. Especially since this is being potrayed as political satire. Besides, Bush’s “new tone” mindset wouldn’t allow him to lash out anyway.
To Oliver: Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.
LOL
Oliver should become a Freeper. We don't take sides either. He would feel right at home.
Just the few commercials I’ve seen so far leads me to believe this pile of dung movie will bomb.
To the left, fairly non-partisan means they won’t really follow through on the suicide or moving out of the nation they promised to do if “X” Republican got voted in during any given election.
Oliver Stone is a joke to everyone but himself. Even the left thinks he’s blown more than a few circuits.
To quote Judge Judy: "Don't pee on my shoes and tell me its raining."
?
..yeah and Pam Anderson's a virgin
I wonder if that is the most obvious lie I have ever heard. Even more fascinating is there are people who believe him or at least pretend to.
“”I tried to be fair and balanced and compassionate,” Stone adds. “I don’t take sides. I don’t take political sides. I’m a dramatist, and this is the movie I’ve made.””
Yeah, and Babs Streisand is pretty, Nancy Pelosi is a moderate, Barney Frank likes women, Obama is a christian, dems are pro military, and very, very soon, the US will drill for it’s own oil.
The most talked about FLOP of the year !
“These were actual sequences that were originally in Oliver Stone’s ‘W.’ movie which is opening this Friday. However, since they were finally cut from the movie, Stone is now patting himself on his back for his forbearance.”
That’s the way it goes today. When this gets realeased on DVD, the ads will trumpet that it contains BONUS CENSORED SCENES BUSHCO DIDN’T WANT YOU TO SEE!!!1! That’ll play well with the foreign market too.
Wesley Snipes ;-)))
I know.
Excellent, a trial. Get the facts out, and theirs no longer a need to debate this nonsense.
He's silly and stupid, but he can turn a profit.
Neither one of them seems to be able to direct themselves out of a wet paper bag.
The real idiots are the ones who fund these laugh riots. Sorry Ollie , no one gives a rats ass. ( shout out to Capitalist Tool , i remmember seeing the great one on his Harley many times ).
Damn. He could almost be a reporter with his ability to delude himself. Almost every film he has made has been political, and I even liked a few of them.
The movie’s gonna bomb. GWB may not be the smartest guy to ever occupy the WH, but next to Stone’s abysmally stupid portrayal of him, the real GWB looks positively brilliant.
So did Little Bush, I mean W., ask for a hot dog gun too?
I played golf recently with one of the cast members in the movie W. I’m not going to say which cast member because I don’t want that person to get in trouble. It was an absolute PLEASURE to play golf with this person (let’s call him/her “X”), just a wonderful time.
At any rate, we talked about the movee since X was in it and it had not come out yet. X said that if you’re a W. fan, you’re not going to like it. Stone portrays things through his lens and he doesn’t care for Bush at all. X said on many scenes the cast members had to tell Stone he was wrong in how Stone was portraying W, based on their own research.
X also said Stone is a crazy man but he brings in the dollars for the studios so they put up with him.
Just my two cents. I’m sure you can imagine that X isn’t Dreyfuss. LOL
Is he patting himself on the back for so cleverly ripping off the fantasy sequences from The Big Lebowski?
