HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – It has been reported for months that John McCain would have a relatively easy time winning West Virginia, but a new poll shows Barack Obama has made quite the comeback.

The American Research Group reported that for the first time Obama has taken the lead here in the Mountain State. The poll shows that if the election were held today, Obama would capture 50 percent of the vote compared with Republican presidential candidate McCain's 42 percent.

This is a big turn around from previous polls, which showed McCain leading by a wide margin in West Virginia.

I don't believe this poll at all but air time is so cheap in West Virginia that I think it wouldn't hurt to air some ads to make certain people show up to vote on election day.

Lying whores.

The ARG poll shows they sampled 55% Democrat, 35% Republican.

If they spotted Obama a 20-point lead and he is only up by 9 points, what does that tell you?

Cheers!

Ok, in 2006 I was rightly criticized for saying that the polls were wrong. They weren't. However, as NRO's famous mysterious "Obi Wan" tells Jim Geraghty, had the campaign gone one more week, most of those Republicans would have won, and probably we would have held both the House and Senate. Timing is everything.

That said, the pollsters simply must be in that Washington/New York mind-set where they believe their own feces. This is simply absurd. Yes, Palin did one stop in W VA on her way to OH and PA, but it was the northwestern part whose TV reaches into Cincy and Pittsburgh. When this is over, either those of us who found this stuff silly will look completely foolish, or we will look like geniuses. Might want to flag this for future reference, one way or another :)

ARG polls tend to be erratic, to put it nicely. I don’t say this very often about polls, but unless we start seeing similar results from better pollsters, it’s safe to disregard this one.

Read have pathetic and wrong this ARG polls are and all the state pollsters are too.

http://wizbangblog.com/content/2008/10/09/state-poll-accuracy.php

We need to BAN polling 30 days from an Election just like the rest of the WORLD does.
These polls are meant to sway people and cause a herd impact and they are useless otherwise.

The ARG poll shows they sampled 55% Democrat, 35% Republican.

This isn't totally out of whack. In 2004, the breakdown by party was D50, R32, and I18. But only 69% of Ds voted for Kerry, 94% of Rs voted for Bush, 56% of Is voted for Bush, and Bush carried West Virginia by 13 points.

Oboma won't win. Political correctness forces people to SAY they're for Oboma. It's easier to play along than argue with a leftist or be called a "racist" about it.

Once in the voting booth, though, the intimidation stops. People are free to speak their OWN mind about political issues, and they will. People don't like being forced into silence by some crazed left wing commie cult.

I live in West Virginia and have heard from multiple die hard Democrats that most certainly never voted for Bush that will never vote for Obama, so if somehow Obama wins WV then he is going to pull a Reagan over Mondale type landslide.

Please explain (for example) the following from Rasmussen:

Eighty-three percent (83%) of West Virginia Republicans and 34% of Democrats support McCain. Just 60% of Democrats and 13% of GOP voters back Obama.

Men favor McCain by 14 points, but women voters give the Republican only a 46% to 44% edge over his Democratic rival.

McCain is viewed favorably by 63% and unfavorably by 35%. Fifty percent (50%) give Obama favorable marks, but nearly as many (49%) regard him unfavorably.

Cheers!

It's all in the small print, isn't it? Oboma will not win. He's a body without a soul. No one knows who he really is, and worse - he's actually working way too hard to hide it. That says something.

Oboma is John Kerry- Part II.

Morgana: “At the Republican headquarters Dems are coming in by droves saying “we will not vote for a n*****””

If what you say is true, and I have a hard time believing large numbers of people are that racist, then they are just as bad as Obama.

Most people I know have no trouble whatsoever voting for someone regardless of race or sex. The problem isn’t Obama’s race. It’s his far left Marxist ideologies that are completely inconsistent with American values.

That’s why I say Obama and many of his supporters aren’t even American. They may have been born here, but they are aliens in thought and deed.

There’s no such thing as liberty when one citizen has dibs on another’s property.

The final break down in the CNN Pole breakdown in 2004 for
Right now McCain leads Obama in Montana “by 5%” according to ARG, which means the GOP are under sampled. I cannot explain West Va. Bush got 56% of the women in 2004. I don’t think it would hurt Palin to make another visit to remain the people of the coal issue.

West VA

DEM 50 (Kerry got 69%)
GOP 32 (Bush got 94%)
IND 18 (Bush got 54%)

Montana

DEM 32 (Kerry got 78%)
GOP 39 (Bush got 95%)
IND 29 (Bush got 46%)

Yes. A lot of individual bad candidates, too. DeWine was a terrible candidate, and still could have won had he not pissed off the gun owners and done the "Gang of 14."

Burns got wrapped up in the lobbying scandal. I still don't get Allen, despite "macaca," I just don't understand how he lost that race.

Not buying this BS one second. Obama is totally against Coal generation plants and plans to shut them down and replace them with wind “energy”. (Chuckle)

Now of course on his campaign adds and his speeches, he is all for “Clean Coal” but fails to define the degree of “clean”. He says what the crowd wants to hear and flips his position 180 degrees depending on what part of the country he is in.

All politicians have done this since the beginning, but some how the public believes every word he spews, no matter how many times he says the opposite thing to another audience.

No, the problem is not with Obama, it is with the fools and Lemmings who attend his rallies and believe his speeches.

From what I've heard, Allen's loss was a mix of a few things. He apologized way too much for saying "macaca" and ended up looking guilty, which drove away voters in Fairfax County who thought he was a southern bumpkin and conservatives who wanted Allen to fight. He tried to discredit Webb among military voters by claiming he mistreated women in the military branch (or something along those lines, I forget exactly what) and for whatever reason, it backfired and drove military voters toward Webb. If you look at Webb's showings in the military-influenced congressional districts VA-1 and VA-2, Webb did well there for a Democrat. And apparently, even Allen releasing Webb's "dirty writings" backfired on him; he ended up getting the blame for being more negative, and his small lead in the polls evaporated. Allen didn't even use the gay marriage on the ballot to his advantage, which allowed social conservatives to split their votes for the measure and for Webb.

I think it just boiled down to Allen running a much worse campaign than we thought.

like the Pumas say....the msn media and its smaller entities are in cahoots with barry soetoro or are doing his bidding with a wink and a not....

this is all according to their scipt people..the coordinated attacks in a timely manner, accusing McCain of things that they actually are doing, the acorn, the money from foreigners....

don't believe any of this...

McCain is winning ...the closer we get, the more nervous the fascist SS troops get....they were supposed to win easily, have barry enshrined, and the rest is history...

my dearly beloved mother had a sense and a wisdom about things....she always said that there WAS actually communist trying to infiltrate our govt and that McCarthy was right..

now she was a Kennedy voter and not prone to conspiracy, but this she felt strongly about..

so yes.....all this polling and the attacks and the drivebys....its all in the plan...they want to take over our country and folks, I don't think we will ever have an election again if barry is enshrined....

PRAY AND WORK HARD!
