Conservative-friendly media better get ready. Should Barack Obama win the presidency and the Democrats control Congress, as now seems likely, they will launch a full-scale war to drive critics — especially on political talk radio — right out of legitimate public debate.
Signs of what the new environment will be like for the right are already evident:
• When the National Rifle Association recently released television and radio ads in Pennsylvania targeting Obama's history of anti-gun votes, the Obama campaign's general counsel fired off bullying letters to stations that ran the spots, implying that they may have violated public-interest obligations.
• When the 527 group, the American Issues Project, came out with a commercial linking Obama to former Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers, the campaign (unsuccessfully) complained to the Department of Justice that AIP had broken campaign finance laws, and managed to spook some stations away from the ad.
• When two different conservative writers looking into Obama's background appeared on Chicago's WGN-AM Radio, the campaign's "action wire" energized its activists to bombard the station with rage-filled phone calls and e-mails, making the program more difficult to conduct.
(The show, hosted by the eminently reasonable Milt Rosenberg, had on both occasions invited the Obama campaign to send a representative to respond; the campaign preferred to answer with digital brownshirts.)
These crude efforts are only a start.

They can try to suppress free speech-it won’t work. No one is better than the commies in China at doing it, and they can’t. Conservatives can move to satelite radio, and if the left shuts that down they’ll move to the internet. The will try but it won’t work. The right in this country is being pushed to the point of revolt-(the anger we saw at the McCain-Palin rally in WI was very encouraging). The sooner the battle starts the better.

This will be Bush’s and the Republican controlled congress’ greatest failure : Not crushing the Dimocrat party and their allies when they had the chance . This would have consisted of defunding Leftist groups (ACORN) and passing safeguard legislation for the alternative media .
The Dims are not afraid of wielding power to crush their opponents and we are on the verge of being on the receiving end of the ruthlessness of total DimocRat control . It’s going to be a very bumpy ride from which we might never recover ....
I have the solution — make sure the socialist Obama does not win the election. We have the power in our hands to turn out people to vote against him and if you have never worked a GOTV effort, now is the time to do it. Call your local Victory office that is with the State Party. We need every last vote we can get to defeat Obama.
Call family, friends, people at Church and get them out to vote. Send out emails to everyone you know with how important it is for them to vote.
With the number of people on here we can make a difference so do it starting tomorrow when you go to Church — ask people to please go vote for McCain/Palin. If you don’t like McCain tell them to vote for Sarah Palin.

If I was a retiree I would be down there making calls and helping out. I work full time but I will be there tomorrow, each night this week and all the weekends to the election.
If you are in a safe Red State or solid blue State - they can set you up to call out of state.
I am hoping McCain’s GOTV is as good as Bush’s 2004.
Hand wringing, whining, watching the polls, watching sports games on the weekends does not win election. Volunteering is a lot of fun and you work with great people.

Those four conservative Supreme Court justices had better start tightening up their personal security if Obama wins, and avoid general aviation (light planes) like the plague.
The question has to be asked: The U.S. Military. Unlike any other military in the world. Not subjects too any dictator or his congress...but to the Constitution. Many have served and sacrificed. Many still serve. In all branches. Are they going to allow what they fought for be undone just like that? I'm talking from generals/admirals on down to the ground-pounders. Just lay down their weapons? Just give up to a liberal Marxist dictator and liberal Marxist congress? I have my doubts. They didn't serve, sacrifice blood, sweat and tears only to let it all be for nothing and surrender.

Just wait for the so called “Fairness” Doctrine. The Democrats would like to decide what you can listen to on the radio. They would like to stop conservative talk radio. Where does this all lead to?
They won't change the rules, they'll just change the game. Like find some way to tax the guns you do own,making it impossible to keep them in a declining economy? or what they did for Katrina, declare martial law due to some made-up emergency and just grab your defense?

Ohhhh...I am pretty sure that they will attempt to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine to accomplish the end of conservative talk radio. And then someone needs to take it straight to the Supreme Court before any new justice is appointed.
Problem for them is, they still think that the Bill of Rights is a grant of permission for citizens, when in fact it is a recognition of the obligation of lawmakers. It's for the day they "go after it" that it was written in the first place.

Pass a vague “hate crime and speech” law, then pound any ISP who allows hateful speech.
Demand the immediate shutdown of any site that allows hate speech under the above law, erase the site from the DNS servers by court order until a trial or plea bargain can be arranged.
Pass “no net anonymity” laws, so when you post “Barack Hussain Obama is a murtad fitri”, his supporters will see your real name, and where you live.
Broaden child porn laws to make it easier for police to get a search warrant for your home, computer, digital storage media, and analog storage media, and allow your ISP or neighbor to report “Suspicious Internet Activity”, this goes along with the one above in case chanting crowds outside your house don't shut you up properly.
Change laws that only apply to broadcasters to apply to the net (which currently falls under telecomm laws) authorizing FCC to take appropriate action in regards to “news aggregator” sites or other commercial “content” sites, to assure “fairness” and licensing.
I think that's a good start. This would take one or two omnibus crime bills, the right guy in FCC, and a mainstream media bleeding money and viewers to accomplish.
