Rendell on McCain team: 'I think they're just stupid' (Can we attack now McCain?)
cnn ^ | 10/11/2008 | Sasha Johnson

Posted on 10/11/2008 5:58:31 PM PDT by tobyhill

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (CNN) – Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell dismissed the McCain campaign’s recent attacks against Barack Obama’s character Saturday, and said the Republican nominee’s current strategy has severely damaged him here.

“I think the John McCain of 2000 would have been a very difficult candidate to beat. The John McCain of 2008 is much less difficult to beat,” Rendell told reporters after an Obama rally.

When asked if he thought there has been any racial undercurrent to the McCain-Palin ticket bringing up issues like Obama’s relationship with 1960s radical William Ayers, Rendell shook his head.

That’s because in 2000, the media loved McCain. In 2008, they WORSHIP Obama.

More reasons to hate Pennsylvania. I live here, unfortunately, and I despise this state with a passion.

This worthless state has been nothing but an enemy to the Republican party and it’s cities (Philly and Pittsburgh especially which is a sh*t hole because the idiots that live here will never elect anyone who isn’t a Democrat) follow suit.

The first chance I get to leave this piece of garbage state I will jump at it.

Its really tough to have 8 years of pounding Bush, lies and distortions and then have a “dream” media darling in Obama.
Once he was coronated..the Emporer may have no clothes...so the story goes.

Interesting how upset the Dems are though with the “stupid “ attacks on Obama. Now the Messiah is spending his time answering all those “stupid” attacks.
Increase the doubt....for the swing voters.

PA is the oldest average age of any state except Florida. Old retirees who are seduced by pols telling them they will get more and more free stuff. Add to that a gazillion union workers beholden to corrupt labor leaders and a huge percentage of the population on the government payroll, and you have a formula for socialism and Obama. Lots of nice people there but the state stinks.

I hate PA.

It’s kind of funny, since the John McCain of 2000 got clobbered by Prez Bush in the early primaries despite all of the hate Bush media portraying McCain as a Maverick blah blah.

The McCain of 2008 is within the margin of error, and is possibly on the verge of victory if enough voters will understand what Hussein is truly about.

Your right. This state is infected with stupid old folks who still cling onto the ridiculous lie that Dems are for the working class/little people and Republicans favor ONLY the rich, white upper class.

Add also the union a-holes who would rather run over their own grandmother than vote for a Republican and you got Pennsylvania that will never go red.

Of course the Rooney’s are nothing but race-obsessed liberals. They were the ones who pushed the law in the NFL that forces owners to interview minorities for coaching positions whether they’re qualified or not.

They are playing McCain. They know he must go negative. Trying to tie his hands. Complaining about his crowds. Worried about Obama's safety. Comparing McCain to George Wallace. Unfortunately, I think they've gotten into McCain's head.

.

McCain is losing this campaign because he refuses to fight Obama and his lies, and dirty tactics such as ACORN voter fraud. He’s just been rolling over (or bending over, I should say) and accepting the abuse heaped upon him- and expecially Sarah Palin.

The anemic attempts by the McCain camp to fight back within the last few days just ain’t gonna get it.
He should have been hitting Obama back hard months ago.
He needs to get out there every day and FIGHT BACK.
Email Republican headquarters/McCain.

RESPECTFUL CAMPAIGNING WENT STRAIGHT OUT THE WINDOW WITH OBAMA’S NASTY, BRUTAL COMMENTS SUCH AS;
‘lipstick on a pig’ and ‘You can wrap AN OLD FISH in a piece of paper called change. It’s still going to stink after eight years.’

Take off the gloves, McCain!

Hit the Marxist/Muslim hard with Ayers, Acorn, Violation of Logan Act, abortion, 2nd admendment, Campaigning for Odinga!!

Get off the d*mned economy issue. State that Obama/Democrats/ACORN caused this meltdown. State McCain offered a proposal to avert the meltdown and GET OFF IT.
Obama is counting on keeping this going to take the spotlight off his sordid past and dirty dealings!

"I fully expect to get flamed on this but I agree- the McCain campaign is just stupid, though my reasons are completely different then rendell’s...."

Instead of getting flamed, how about a scented candle next to you to breathe deep...

OK, here goes the gentle responce: As Rush said, we are going to have to have Sarah Palin drag McCain's Yosemite Sam a$$ across the finish line and then we 'Conservatives' hover over him like hawks during his administration to keep him in line until Sarah Palin can take over...or something to that effect.

Listen carefully: People out there are begining to become more and more angry at Washington and scared at the same time of Obama...as Obama rises in the polls, thhe stock market goes down: FEAR is right! The more that is revealed about Obama by Internet and then passed around, the more afraid people become of the pantload. Ayers the bomber? Odinga the genocide cousin? ACORN the fraud? Gangsters of various types and crimes? Marxists proposals? Rev. Wright saying G-d damn America? America-hating African Americans scaring the crud out of white people...even Democrats! Even a bad smelling plane? I wanted to ask if it's a sulfur odor of something like brimstone? [indicates the presence of demons]

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds. So, let us put on our whole armor of God that we may stand against the wiles of this demon.

The late Jerry Falwell said (and I agree) "Nothing of eternal importance is ever accomplished apart from prayer."

End of gentle flaming............

Originally, I thought they were brilliant. The timing of the announcement of Gov. Palin for Veep, the morning after the Sermon on the Mound by the Messiah was a stroke of genius. Then, my FRiend, slowly the wheels came 'off.' Too much reaching across the aisle, my FRiend, too much 'he's a decent family man...' You get the picture.

Rush has said the Palin will dragging McWhatsHisName's sorry a$$ across the finish line the night of 11/4...and I am starting to really believe him, my FRiend.

And can you tell, I can't stand McCain saying 'my friend...' as the openning to every answer. Grrrrrrrr...almost as much as I dislike McCain calming (try baffling, insulting, dismissing) his supporters by tell us what a great guy the The Chosen One is.

The MSM frauds never cared at all for McCain — they USED him against the Republican Party, both in 2000 and in 2008.... until he actually became the nominee in 2008. Then suddenly he was/is radioactive. But the mediascum never actually wanted him to be POTUS — they merely found him a useful “Maverick” club to wield against more conservative R. candidates.

Some people think that Rendell, although he must act as if he supports Obama, is not going to do much to help him on election day. The voter fraud schemes will not work as well if Rendell is not on board. He knows that Hillary's chances in 2012 are very much decreased if Obama wins. Some also think that the demographics of the state (older, white, blue-collar workers that were Regan Democrats) are those that play to McCain's strengths and are exactly opposite of those that favor Obama. If Obamaa loses PA, he is dead in the water.

***Mark Salter, McCain’s long-serving chief of staff, is understood to have told campaign insiders that he would prefer his boss, a former Vietnam prisoner of war, to suffer an “honourable defeat”***

I don't think the poster's too far off the mark.

Please explain why I’m clueless?

Or did you just get back from the bar and your wife is asleep and therefore you can’t beat her so you want to be the resident message board a**hole?

Projecting, little boy?

I am amazed by the number of whiny b!tches that have infested this board second guessing and complaining EVERY SINGLE THING that this campaign does that isn’t perfect. If you’re a troll, go back to DU and pound sand. If not, go look for your bollocks and come back when you find them and have something constructive to add.
