Sarah Palin--Feminist Or Victim Of Sexism?
By Bonnie Erbe
Oct 9, 2008

(US News) The Republican right, in all its glory, is going bonkers over a Newsweek cover with what some call a highly unflattering picture of their fearless leader, Gov. Sarah Palin.

Despite countless magazine pictures and covers with similarly unflattering pix of Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama (and his wife, Michelle), this one, they whine, shows too many wrinkles and too much unsightly facial hair and was taken from too close an angle. Apparently you've got to see one in person to get the full effect.

Meanwhile, Reuters ran some pictures of Palin that truly are tasteless and deserve more attention than the volumes of blogosphere venom spewed on the Newsweek cover. Taken through Palin's legs and from behind her, they make it appear that male members of the audience are peering right up her skirt. Now that's deserving of conservative alarm.

Don't take my word for it--take a look for yourself.

Meanwhile, a gadfly president of a local chapter of the National Organization for Women endorsed Palin this week at a rally in California. Shelly Mandell even said, in reference to Palin, "This is what a feminist looks like."

Let's not go there. Palin has called herself a feminist (in her now infamous interview with CBS's Katie Couric), and every American gets to choose his or her own labels, no matter how inappropriate they may be.

It's hot. Anyone got a copy?

If you vote against Sarah, are you a sexist?

There really needs to be a word to mean "advocate of equal opportunity".

Feminism doesn't mean that. Never did. Never will.

How about "American?"

Well, it used to apply anyway...

Bonnie Erbe, for instance, calls herself a "journalist."

Where are all these unflattering pics of Obama that Erbe is talking about? The ones I’ve seen have all been highly flattering, even worshipful, such as the Rolling Stone cover a few weeks ago that portayed Obama in a heroic pose with absolutely none of the story “teasers” that are always on the cover. It was obviously done to create an iconic effect, unmarred by any text other than the magazine’s logo.

I don't think the pics create that impression at all. The young men are obviously way too far from Palin - 15 to 25 feet - to be looking up her skirt. They are looking at her face. Erbe is simply lying.

Bonnie Erbe is a disgusting PBS-style radical Left feminist. She’s always been a total pain in the gravotch and I imagine if Joy Behar ever leaves The View, Erbe would be a likely replacement. They think alike and even look a little alike.

GK Chesterton said something along the lines of “Feminism it the line of thought that hates everything feminine.”

To dispell this liberal myth of Sarah being an airhead, the McCain campaign needs to urge Sarah to talk about a typical day as governor and how she dealt with it. She needs to talk shop a little bit to show the professional Sarah Palin.

Ah, Jeeze, I saw this pic, and it’s no big deal, even though the commies at Newsweak tried to smear her. It just shows her legs from the calves down, and the audience is a good distance away. Nobody’s “looking up her skirt”. Bonnie Erbe is, as always, full of it.
