Anger Is Crowd's Overarching Emotion at McCain Rally
Washington Post ^ | 10/10/2008 | Michael D. Shear and Perry Bacon Jr

Posted on 10/10/2008 9:46:25 PM PDT by Jeliota

There were shouts of "Nobama" and "Socialist" at the mention of the Democratic presidential nominee. There were boos, middle fingers turned up and thumbs turned down as a media caravan moved through the crowd Thursday for a midday town hall gathering featuring John McCain and Sarah Palin.

I’m angry! I’m angry about the socialist scumbags in Congress!
I’m angry at the media that talks about people being angry at McCain/Palin rallies while not reporting on any of the hatred coming out of the worm food left towards Palin. The rumor mongering the hateful attacks on her children. I’m sick of it and they’d better be ready on election day because we are going to take this to the finish line and rub their faces in the manure they foist up on tv every night.

I’m thinking the middle fingers are Dem plants. That’s not a Republican thing. The thumbs down is probably us. The boos are probably us. And good for us.

Hm.

I bet they also heard “No ACORN!” a few times.

Maybe we should just shout, “Anti-America, Cloward-Piven Marxists?”

People are starting to wake up!

And when they do, boy its ugly. I do think Obama is sending screamers to the Rally’s. I think the next time someone yells something vile, they should check who it is.

Lot’s of energy out there....Some how we need to contain it and put it into one message......We all are saying the same thing put in ten different ways.....like SOCIALIST...TERRORIST....MUSLIM.....COMMIE..........WHAT IF WE JUST STARTED RAISING SIGNS OR HAVE STICKERS THAT SAY

VOTE AGAINST THE OBAMA UNDERGROUND!

WE NEED ONE VOICE!

Oh that nasty old anger.

Maybe they’re actually being “judgmental” and “non-inclusive” as well.

Anger is BY FAR the most sane emotion right now, considering the current harvest due to the downward spiral of socialism America has been experiencing since the mid 1960’s, albeit somewhat of a breather under Ronald Reagan.

I would never question Senator McCain’s courage and integrity. But I think it’s obvious he has finally given up.

To watch that video of him CAMPAIGNING FOR Obama, instead of against him: http://www.mofopolitics.com/2008/10/10/video-mccain-gives-up-spends-whole-rally-defending-obama/

That was really quite stomach-churning. It’s over.

They also noted that many of McCain's events are attended by liberal protesters, who often yell epithets and hold angry signs as McCain's bus drives by. And they recalled angry words from Obama at a rally in Las Vegas last month, in which he urged supporters to talk to their friends and neighbors, saying "I want you to argue with them and get in their face."

Please, let someone try that.

He has not given up...please.

John McCain is not and never will be that kind of attack dog we all want. He will say things to Obama I am sure in the debate....but he is not going to be thuggish!

McCain knows ugliness, he is not about to partake in hate!
Remember he is also the one to vote against torture, when he was....he also went back to make peace with the Vietnamese...He is an honorable and classy man. He will win, but he will win with dignity...its his style!

Besides, I think he knows something and doesnt want his hands muddy, when it comes out!

Ima just sayin...

He will get the job done, but it will be with dignity.

There are still people who look you in the eye and when they shake you hand its their word. You can count on it.

Just because the world has gone mad, doesn’t mean you throw in the towel and lose all respect.

Actually, when you scroll back a day or two, the "angry mob meme" has been repeated over and over, as the tattered remnants of the Media sacrifice what's left of their integrity (which ain't much) for the sake of making one more President.

Lemmings.

Yeah the left has effectively destroyed both Bush and Cheney. Some of it is the Presidents fault. I don’t think he realized just how much they hated him and if we don’t fight back and I mean hard. They are going to do it again. They are well on their way with Sarah Palin.

You are correct, McCain is no attack dog. Weelll, he can be, but since he is known for his temper, he won't be. A tantrum is what the media is breathlessly waiting for.

From what I have seen, the crowd at that rally wanted blood. Well, everyone is on edge and wanting retribution. This could very well spin out of control and escalate in a very negative manner..if fuel is thrown on the fire.

McCain did a good job, imo, of diffusing a potentially dangerous situation.

Did he go overboard in praising his opponent? Maybe.

But I wasn't standing in front of a furious crowd like he was.

If Barry is elected, he may want to think about growing a thicker skin.

You can’t even say his middle name, much less burn him in effigy as has happened in the current administration. He will be as much criticized as President Bush, or more..eventually.

But maybe not. The media may prevent that.

His media WILL prevent that.

And IF, God forbid, he is elected, he will certainly defend himself more vigorously then the abysmally passive President Bush.

Bush’s allegedly poor approval ratings, if true, are due mainly due his unwillingness to defend himself, or more appropriately, to go on the offensive against his attackers.
