The British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal ruled today that a controversial article about Islam in Maclean's magazine did not violate the province's hate speech law.

In acquitting the magazine, the Tribunal ruled that the article, an excerpt from Mark Steyn's book America Alone in which he describes the demographic and ideological dangers posed by a growing Muslim population in the West, was not likely to expose Muslims to hatred or contempt.

Won? Perhaps in a legal sense, but they were dragged through hell by a kangaroo court, aka star chamber and spent thousands of dollars defending themselves against brown shirts. Shame on Canada.

Its NOT a victory. The kangaroo courts can pass judgment on what you say. That's more offensive than their pseudo acquittal, given only because Mark Steyn was too prominent to punish. But if you're a little guy, you still get the full dose of their totalitarian thuggery and then some.

He has done a lot to shine a light on them, but with Obama
looking more likely as the next Potus this kind of thing could be in the US.

"British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal"

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. - C.S. Lewis"
