DAYTON — A judge will hold a hearing Oct. 20 on whether to grant China Arnold, convicted of killing her month-old daughter by burning her in a microwave oven, a new trial....
Arnold, 28, was sentenced in September to life in prison without parole following her second trial. Her first one ended in a mistrial.
China Arnold's attorney Jon Paul Rion speaks to the reporters in front of signs of support from friends and family....
Defense attorneys said a former cellmate who testified that Arnold confessed to the killing has changed her story. They also said they have evidence that points to another person as being responsible.

Prosecutors oppose a new trial, arguing that the cellmate's trial testimony is credible and her recantation is not. And they have argued...that there is no evidence anyone other than Arnold committed the crime.

This woman needs to be sentenced to death by a microwave, only then will she understand before the final moment.
I hope she gets a new celly who will spare the taxpayers that particular expense, God forgive me for saying so.

And after all, how can a life of a child be more important than a woman’s right to choose. I mean, maybe she had a new boyfriend who didn’t like kids? Or maybe her job made being a mom inconvenient.
Or maybe we see a living human monster.
Either she may or may not get a new trial, but if I were a betting woman I would say it will be many,many moons before she sees the inside of a jail cell 24/7.
