Warner: Scalia Thomas Not Mainstream

WOW, he is trying to not get elected. If Warner would just keep quiet, this is in the bag for him.

All else to one side, who said they were main stream?

Who said the SCOTUS should be comprised of MAIN STREAM? Where is that decreed? I could care less if they are, or are not, main stream as long as they don't create laws from the bench WITHOUT ANY DEBATE AND WITHOUT A VOTE BY THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PEOPLE.

"Warner: Scalia Thomas Not Mainstream."

Mainstream what? The vanity, sanctimoniousness and arrogance of the modern American left is breathtaking.

Someone in VA please explain how a lib like Warner is ahead by 20 pts in his senate race? Gilmore may not be the best candidate, but he is a former governor and VA is (or at least was) a reliable red state in presidential elections.

When I saw the headline, I thought it was about John Warner.

I guess I wouldn't be shocked if he did say that sometime.

This is the first salvo to increase the supreme court to 12 members so Obama can pick the next three and get a majority of the court. That'll make it easier to pass hate speech laws and such."

Well the media are in the tank for Warner. Please Democrats in this state have gotten smart at leveraging phony events and fake groups. Like Sportsman for Warner, NRA for Warner, et. The guy doesn’t support Justices Scalia and Thomas who are the strongest 2nd Amendment Justices on the court?

Jim Gilmore is a great candidate. Those who say he isn’t haven’t been paying attention. He has an impeccable record as a military and intelligence man. He was an outstanding Governor and under him the GOP took over the Virginia State government. He ran on cutting the draconian car tax here in VA and he did it. What happened is in NVA there are many like John Warner who are really big spending left leaning Republicans and they ran to victory with Gilmore but then wanted him to raise spending and renege on the car tax cut. He didn’t and he left the state budget balanced with an anticipation of 10-11% growth. He left over 300 million in surplus funds in addition to 1 billion in a rainy day fund.

Well Mark Warner wasn’t happy with that and he and some of the NVA Republican leadership hyped up a budget shortfall and rammed through a 1.4 billion dollar tax increase. Warner ran as governor saying that he under no uncertain terms would raise taxes. The way he has gotten out of that promise was he gave money away to a lot of groups when he was governor and they gave him a pass. This was when the economy was recovering after 9-11 so he rode that upswing and bashed Jim Gilmore’s record over and over again with a willing media.

I don’t think Jim realized this had happened so effectively. Mark Warner is no centrist, just because someone spreads the money around doesn’t make him a centrist. He fought the Virginia Marriage Amendment defining Marriage as being between a man and a woman. He finally got caught with his comments about Home Schoolers, the Christian Coalition, NRA, and Pro-lifers. He had repeatedly denied ever saying any such thing but the audio is out now and just today the Homeschooling associations which are very strong in this state are circulating his revealing statements.

Thanks for the insights. What do you think about Bob Marshall? What does the VA GOP need to do to regain dominance there? It’s sick think that VA could really send two liberal senators to Washington, along with their electoral votes to Obama. New GOP leadership down there or what?

I don’t think anything bad about Bob. I really think Bob McDonnell is going to win the Governorship. He is one of our best candidates in the state. We have new leadership but some of the old NVA Gop has been doing its best to fracture the party. They screwed things up in this state after Gilmore’s term finished. It is really unfortunate. We have new blood coming up. It is a long shot for Gilmore but he is going up on TV with new ads so we will see.

We’ve had to run a full deprogramming operation here. I have no doubt the race is closing. It closed 7 points last month but the uphill battle is tough. Warner not only has millions of his own money but most of the media in the tank for him.

I hate polliticians like Warner. He got elected governor of VA running as a conservative democrat. Remember his pandering to the gun owners. Now his true world view is up for everyone to see. Conservatives will never win cause we are not as ideological as lefties. We are Americians first. Our Conservatism in 100% USA. It is not an international movement. There is none other like it. Now the left is international in nature. We are going to lose in the long run. We just do not do politics like the left does.
