[Clinton White House Flak Dee Dee]Myers Praises Palin's Entry into Politics

Burlington, Vermont - It's been sixteen years since Dee Dee Myers took the job of White House Press Secretary in the Clinton administration. Today, Myers is still visible as an author, political commentator and promoter of women's opportunity.

Wednesday, Myers addressed a room full of women at the Key Bank's seventh annual "Key-4-Women" forum. And although she's a partisan Democrat, Myers praised Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's entry into national politics as the Republicans' vice-presidential nominee.

"Now, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't vote for her in a million years," she said to applause. "On a policy level I don't agree with anything she says. But I absolutely defend her right to be there, and I defend the power of her to be a role model for young women."

Myers said the Democrats made a mistake by allowing attacks on Palin's personal life and should stick to policy differences. Myers said she expects Barack Obama will win the election with support from women voters.

I see Hillary's fingerprints on this kind of thing. That last sentence was eyewash, IMO.

This odd, every time I’ve seen this hag on MSNBC she’s been trashing Palin.

Myers praising Palin? Is Dee Dee drinking again....?

People magazine archive, 1995......

[I]n the wee hours of June 27, Myers took a ride in northwest D.C. She double-parked the wrong way and was spotted by a cop. Asked to move on, she drove down the wrong side of the street and double-parked again. At that point, she was arrested, taken downtown and booked for DUI. Though the charges were dropped, the ex-flack was contrite. "I think drinking and driving is a really bad thing," she said.

Yeah, it’s positioning to sell books if nothing else. But I’ll cut her this much slack - she’s right in condemning the personal attacks and if the Left had any decency, comments about Palin like this would have been the rule rather than the exception. It’s fair game to disagree, but going after Palin and her family was way off base, and Myers is at least smart enough to come out and say so.

The Clinton machine will be going into overdrive the next few weeks but you will not see any fingerprints on it.

In fact, this whole ACORN thing might be the doing of the Clintons. They knew a lot of information and I am sure they turned over what they know.

This race is fixing to turn “interesting.”

Good point, she’s been wearing Clinton-issued kneepads for at least twenty years. I cannot stand this bitch-enabler.

I think she's working on the harder stuff that ruined her on her first go-around.

Dee Dee Meyers was grist for on of the greatest lines George Will ever uttered. This was back in the days when they had a reasonably watchable cadre on Sunday morning TV.

Dee Dee was in the process of not getting the necessary security clearances for her job in the clinton administration. I suspect that was due to her penchant for mind altering ingestions, inhalations etc. Many people were aghast at the cavalier way clinton hung her out to dry. Remember, she was his press secretary.

When the Dee Dee hysteria was about at it's zenith, Will commented on Sunday morning TV, "It's impossible to overestimate the unimportance of what happens to Dee Dee Meyers."

Now that belongs on PAGE ONE of any volume of quotable quotes.
