What's the difference between a hockey mom and a referee? If you plan on heading out to the Philadelphia Flyers' home opener against the New York Rangers this Saturday, you'll realize they actually have more in common than you'd think.

On Saturday, October 11th, vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will drop the ceremonial first puck to mark the start of the 7:30 game between the Rangers and Flyers at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Ed Snider, founder of the Flyers gives reason for his decision on Philly.com:
