Record numbers of American voters tuned in to the three debates, proving only two things. Americans are very concerned about the future of their nation and they want to know more about the two tickets running for the highest office in the land.
What we have learned so far...
1) Modern debates are designed to hide facts, not provide facts.
2) Its a mistake to allow only left-wing Democrats like Jim Lehrer, Gwen Ifill and Tom Brokaw, to control the most important debates of our generation.
3) Style trumps substance for too many Americans.
4) We need an electric hot plate under the debate stage to shock the candidates every time they lie. Mr. Obama would look more like Mr. Bojangles.
5) The many differences between McCain and Obama are nightmarishly stark!
Despite all of the left-wing efforts to keep American voters in the dark about this election and the truth behind the two people seeking the office of Commander-in-Chief, we have learned a few more important things watching these debates...

Lehrer ran the best debate I have seen in a long time. Both candidates were allowed to slug it out and he stayed out of the way.
McCain was the wrong candidate for the Republican party is what I have “learned”. Cannot articulate a good vision, won’t engage Obama in a way that shows Obama for what he is and he’s really showing his age.
The problem is that Palin, Jindal etc., are simply not ready to stand for the top job yet. In 2012 both would be on their second terms and be more battle tested for a national stage.
What have we learned? (like we didn’t know it already)
The media is in the tank for the Dems.
Both candidates win. Go figure.
Wow! Someone finally tells the truth. “Its a mistake to allow only left-wing Democrats like Jim Lehrer, Gwen Ifill and Tom Brokaw, to control the most important debates of our generation.” They are not the MSM, they are not “willing accomplices”, they are not the “drive-by media”. They are Democrats. (It will be a little-read article, but it’s a start. :-)
The true meaning of the words vapid ... vacuum ... & vexing.
Here’s what I’ve learned from McCain:
pork
earmark
surge
maverick
*yawn*
I haven’t learned anything from the Messiah because my eyes glaze over and I have too much trouble staying awake when he talks.
We have learned that debates are useless. The moderators are in a hurry to get ask as many questions as they can. Follow-ups are frowned upon. Very important issues are raised and the candidates are to give 2 minute answers.
Solution. Require position papers on the issues. Put it in writing and have it fact-checked. Then do a face to face with the moderator’s only job to operate a mic time clock.
