Theres a lot of blog buzz over Barack Obamas membership in the socialist New Party. You can read about it here, here, and here.
A year ago, I might have gotten as worked up about this as everyone else seems to be.
But after watching a GOP White House and Republican collaborationists fork over billions upon billions in socialist aid to private businesses, presiding over the most massive nationalization efforts Ive seen in my lifetime over the past year and then watching John McCain pitch his Treasury Department-as-national loan servicer plan during the debate its hard for me to muster up much more angst than I already have.

The New Party - Democratic Socialists of America is a BIG deal. Michelle is wrong on this one!
I beg to differ. Michelle is wrong. My guess is that she is too young to have been around when groups like the New Party were common enough that she might have been exposed to someone who belonged to one.
There is no comparison between the bailout type mentality in Congress at the moment and the loons of the New Party. These New Party people are socialists. They believe in a right to all basics. They want “worker control” of businesses and pension funds. They are like children angry at the parents who run things. They sit around at meetings for hours and accomplish nothing.
If Michelle had any contact with these types she’d realize how wrong she is. They are stark raving mad. She may disagree with Henry Paulson, but stark raving mad he is not. I’d trust him to babysit my dogs. I wouldn’t trust a New Party person to water the lawn.
The truest article I have read all day. Whether McCain or Obama wins, we are now a socialist society.
Guys, she is wrong here.
There is a big difference between having some socialist pushes during times of crisis like this and actually pushing for it the rest of the time by literally being a card-carrying member.
I’ll chime in too. Michelle is wrong and it’s not the first time.
This bailout is more than disgusting....it's maddening!!!And it sure is working just fine isn't it? SARC...And how about AIG big shots going on a weeks “vacation” to a posh resort in Ca. a WEEK after getting a huge chunk of OUR TAX DOLLARS...and guess what...I heard on TV this morning that yet another hiatus is scheduled to take place at a plush resort in Half Moon, Ca. in the next few weeks. This is but one more EXASPIRATING example of NO ONE PAYING ATTENTION TO WE THE PEOPLE....those in positions of power...whether in gov. or financial institutions...what more proof do we need that they don't give a rats petutee what we think or more importantly, that we know what they are doing and they don't worry about us knowing..they are so blatant in their disregard for us...
Well, I'll believe Washington, D.C. is earnest about cleaning up their act when I see Barnie Frank, Chris Dodd, Barak Hussein Obama, John Kerry...wow, the list is long, when I see them led out of Congress in cuffs and slammed in jail. I want to see someone pay besides the people out here who have played by the rules, done without, invested conservatively...and have lost their shirts...now we're supposed to pick up the tab for the idiot actions of Carter, Clinton, Bush and most of the corrupt Congress...and lets not forget the stupid Americans who wanted to buy a $350,000 house when they had a $35,000 job....or better yet, no damned job at all and perhaps not even a LEGAL citizen...or the fools who went out and bought homes to flip and make money on the deal.....BUT, OH, EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A HOUSE...bull crap...some people should never own a house...if they want one...let them do without stuff, save for a 20% down payment and buy their own home...why the hell should the rest of us loose our shirts over others greed, false “do gooders” and downright filthy corruption.
