Newsweek put a 2002 photo of Sarah Palin holding a shotgun on its latest magazine cover. The editors are clearly trying to freak out their liberal readership.
But their latest PDS ploy is going to backfire. She looks fabulous and its reminder that she isnt just a conservative elitist who sits in a Manhattan office or in the ivory tower bloviating about the Second Amendment. She practices what she preaches.
The wonderful thing about the Palin effect is that its so effectively exposing MSM hatred and ignorance. Check out LA Times blogger Elizabeth Sneads moronic comments about the Palin cover: Hey, is that even the right way to hold a rifle? Cant you shoot your foot off like that? (Hat tip - Ace.)
Ill let some of the snort-worthy reactions of LA Times readers speak for themselves:
I suppose that liberals would never know the difference between a rifle and a shotgun - being that you rely solely on the bravery and honor of patriotic Americans to protect you.

Is that a right way to hold a rifle? No. But it is an appropriate way to hold a breech loading shotgun. Which that is. Reporters often wonder how those rural hicks always can spot them. Its comments like that. Its ok to wikipedia things. That doesnt make you a stupid rural hick. In fact, having your facts right might make you seem less of an arrogant, erudite reporter who doesnt even know what she doesnt know.

Your question was Cant you shoot your foot off like that?
Obviously you dont know anything about guns .your finger has to be on the trigger for it to discharge. Also, with an over and under firearm, like that pictured, the gun has to be closed to fire. Guess you should stick to the gossip and fashions - Go get some gun training before you make stupid comments like that!

Thats not a rifle its a over under shotgun, Which is broken open at the breach. Thats a common way to carry them.

Well, actually, its not a rifle. Its an over and under shotgun; but coming from Southern California, we cant expect all of you to know that.

The longarm appears to be a shotgun and side by side which breaks open. It is not possible to shoot the gun with the action open. Many hunters do carry a shotgun broken open like that over their shoulder.
I suggest before you ask a question if that is the correct way to hold a gun talk to people at a gun shop or range or hunter shop.

A rifle? That isnt a rifle. But then, how can we expect anybody in the press to know that?

Heres the bio of the LA Times blogger Elizabeth Snead:
Elizabeth Snead is creator and writer of The Dish Rag, a daily blog about celebrities, style and awards fashion, as well as the weekly Red Carpet Rewind feature.
Elizabeth previously served as fashion editor at USA Today for over a decade. Shes covered Hollywoods hottest red carpets and the sizzling international style scene as a regular at film festivals from Sundance to Cannes.
Shes profiled A-list stars such as George Clooney, Robert Redford, Barbra Streisand, Sharon Stone, Jane Fonda, and Drew Barrymore for USA Today and she penned the scathing E! Fashion Police for five years, calling some stars to task for unspeakable crimes of fashion and praising others for their superb style.
Stick to fashion policing and leave the gun critiques to people who know what theyre talking about, sweetie.
Which of the 57 states is Elizabeth from?
ignorant and MSM... Synonyms...
They’ve never let the facts get in their way, why start now. LOL...

Look at the stripes. That's a USAF Force Protection troop.

Please someone tell me that no one in America, especially a “journalist” is that stupid.
Kalimexifornia....
Or, for the layman out there, the state of stupidity....

"Stupidity" and "journalist" are synonymous. Calling someone a "stupid journalist" is being redundant.
Besides, you can't fix "stupid"....
Don’t ya just love it...every time one of these Libs opens their piehole; they stick their Left foot in it...
and the posters on Snead’s blog are just giving her all matter of hell! LMAO
I was thinking more of the Ignoramus columnisti pseudoinpartialus, hopefully a soon to be extinct species....
Just one foot?
Libs have the capacity to stick BOTH left feet into their mouths at the same time....
“My favorite stupid gun article was about a person holding
up a store with a 45 millimeter automatic revolver.”
Probably an assault revolver, the criminals weapon of choice.
Dont give them ideas. I am sure criminals would love a 180 caliber gun...
That's even better than the ".12 gauge shotgun."
(A 12 gauge shotgun, by definition, would have a bore equivlant to a 1/12 pound round lead ball. Therefore a .12 gauge would have a bore equivalent to (about) an eight pound lead ball.)
Another nail in the coffin of the LA Times.
No wonder the degree program in journalism is a laughing stock. A journalism degree is today’s P.E. degree. Our media is full of mental midgets.
I just hope Kerry actually pulled the trigger while holding that shotgun like that! I’ll bet the Secret Service folks with him were probably so sick of him they just let him do it.
..455 automatic revolver

Above URL is one of my favorite hand gun sites.
They tried so many ways to get more fire power.
My favorite is the 4 shot hand revolved flint lock revolver.
I saw a special on TV a few months ago featuring some collector and they actually shot several of these old collectibles!
LOL!
You sure that’s not New California?
Maybe Kalifornication (apologies to the Red Hot Chili Peppers)....
Dumb reporter should know the biggest automatic revolver is only 35mm
