Today, I have the honor of signing legislation that builds on the growing ties between the world's two largest democracies, India and the United States. (Applause.) This legislation will enhance our cooperation in using nuclear energy to power our economies; it will help us work together even more closely to reduce the danger of nuclear proliferation across the world.

President Bush: Even though the United States and India are separated by half the globe, we are natural partners as we head into the 21st century. Both our nations emerged from a colonial past to establish vibrant democracies. We have welcomed investment and private enterprise to become leaders in the global economy. We have stood against the dangers posed by extremists, who have carried out attacks in both our countries. We have demonstrated that we cherish liberty, honor human dignity, and respect the rule of law.Despite these common interests and values, it was not long ago that relations between the United States and India were strained. In recent years, we've worked to transform our relationship into a strong strategic partnership. One area where we saw tremendous potential for cooperation is energy. As our economies have grown, our demands for energy have grown, as well. It's become increasingly clear that we need to generate that energy in ways that are safe and clean and secure.
One energy source that can generate large amounts of electricity with zero emissions of air pollution or greenhouse gases is nuclear power.
Hello.
hi!
Hi

President Bush: For our part, the United States will gain access to a growing market for civilian nuclear technologies and materials, that will help American businesses create more jobs for our people here at home. Our agreement will also strengthen global nonproliferation efforts. India has committed to operate its civil nuclear energy program under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency and other international guidelines. India will continue to build on its strong record of responsibility in operating its nuclear facilities. And India and the United States will cooperate more closely to keep the world's most dangerous weapons out of the hands of extremists and terrorists.
Congratulations

President Bush: This agreement sends a signal to the world: Nations that follow the path of democracy and responsible behavior will find a friend in the United States of America. (Applause.) The American people are proud of our strong relationship with India. And I am confident that the friendship between our two nations will grow even closer in the years ahead.Laura and I send our best wishes to the hundreds of millions of people in India and around the world who will begin celebrating the ancient festival of Diwali later this month. (Applause.) As we offer our prayers for a happy new year, we can be thankful that the relationship between the United States and India has never been more vibrant and more hopeful.
And it's now my honor to sign the United States-India Nuclear Cooperation Approval and Nonproliferation Enhancement Act. (Applause.)

LAURA BUSH WANTS TO BUILD A HOUSE IN TONY DALLAS NEIGHBORHOOD
By Maria Recio
WASHINGTON — Relocating from Washington and looking for lot - Highland Park area, close to George W. Bush Presidential Library. Security a must; will build green.
First Lady Laura Bush doesn’t have to place a real estate ad, but she has definite ideas about where she wants her future home in Dallas to be as she and the president prepare to return to Texas in January.
“It’s her turn,” said a Texas member of the House of Representatives with knowledge of the move but who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “He wanted the ranch. She wants a home in Dallas.”

BUSH SIGNS INDO-US NUCLEAR BILL
9 Oct 2008, 0014 hrs IST,PTI
Times of India
WASHINGTON: US President George W Bush on Wednesday signed into law the legislation to implement the historic Indo-US civil nuclear deal paving the way for the two countries to formally ink the 123 agreement on Friday.
In significant comments at the signing ceremony, Bush assured there will be no changes in fuel supply commitments as contained in the 123 Agreement. “India can count on reliable fuel supplies (from US) for its reactors,” Bush said.
Bush inked the authorising legislation finally approved by the US Congress last week in a high profile ceremony at the White House’s ornate East Room reversing 34 years of US policy to eventually allow American businesses to have a share of India’s 100 billion dollar nuclear pie.
. . . In a major foreign policy success, Bush put his signature on “ H R 7081, United States- India Nuclear Cooperation Approval and Non-proliferation Enhancement Act “ in the presence of Vice-President Dick Cheney, Rice, Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman, Indian Ambassador to the US Ronen Sen, lawmakers, prominent members of the Indian American community and leading businessmen of the two countries.
[I recommend that you read the ‘Indian’ comments — VERY insightful . . . If you’re keeping score, President Bush has managed to transform the Middle East, Africa and now Indo-China. As a result, our supposedly ‘unpopular’ President is loved and respected by the world’s LARGEST DEMOCRACY, India; by the world’s newest Democracy, Iraq; and by the continent most in need of democracy, Africa! . . . Now, if only the Democrats/members of the MSM would get a clue!]

You're very welcome!
My pleasure. Glad you enjoy the photos :)
Thanks sj, great shots of Foxy Lady Palin.
Pray for W, McCuda and Our Troops
I'm doing fine, hope you are too!
lacking the stomach to look at Hussein and listen to it speak.
Or as McCain called him, "that one" LOL!
last night was SO SO SO dang boring, Im enjoying a regular night. Ramp it up, guys .. ramp it up.
I think the debate was MADE boring because Brokaw (and whatever powers that be) wanted to protect Obama with canned questions so he could deliver his usual canned answers. McCain was pretty much stuck, but he did seem to break loose a little in the last half-hour.
But I agree, both he and Sarah need to keep hitting Obama on Ayers, Wright, Dohrn, Fleger, ACORN--the list is endless, LOL :)
Thanks, Bray :)
