Texas is the only state that really knows how to do it.

I think I understand the legal system fairly well and understand an attorney will try most any tactic to save their client.

We’ve seen many defenses over the years including OJ’s lawyers playing to a racist jury and then there’s the famous twinky defense so don’t even try to tell me there aren’t sleezy lawyers.

I understand this lawyer isn’t just going to stand up and say his client is guilty of aggravated murder and to give him the needle.

IMO, criminals don’t come any more cold blooded than this character and he deserves to die for that crime and I don’t like this tactic to save his life.

I agree that the death penalty is not appropriate for his perp. Cement boots and a trip to the 5 mile depth where those cute fish reside, (earlier thread) and he can fulfill their need for detris!!!

There’s a lesson here.

If you plan on going out on the high seas with people you don’t know real well, much less outnumbered 3 men to you and your wife, uh.....don’t do it.

In fact, as soon as you see them coming towards your boat, even if it’s in the harbor......get off it and make some noise.

Don’t trust anyone. Tom Hawks made a fatal error in allowing these creeps on the boat and it cost him and his wife their lives.

As I always say, nobody ties me up and nobody catches me by surprise. At least not going out on a boat with some men I don’t know real well.......No way.

"Tom and Jackie Hawkins, who were thrown off their yacht and bound to an anchor."

Shouldn't that have been: Tom and Jackie Hawkins were bound to an anchor and then thrown off their yacht...

It would be hard to tie them to an anchor AFTER they've thrown of the yacht!!!

Journalism schools are the pits.

Skylar Deleon, who played as an extra on 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers', has tried to saw off his penis with a razor blade.

Skylar Deleon, 29, who is facing trial after allegedly murdering a couple at sea to steal their yacht, has been hospitalized after trying to cut off his own penis in a mental ward.

According to Dlisted, the Orange County Sheriff's department tells the LA Times:

"Somehow he got a hold of a razor blade and tried to saw off his penis, but didn't complete the job."

"We do know there was a lot of blood and it was quite a scene. But from what I know, he didn't finish his task, and maybe it was too painful and that made him stop."

It’s sad that these folks probably never thought anyone would want to hurt - especially over a boat. Trusting will get you killed.

Read that he had both packages.

Someone in prison will take care of that extra appendage he didn’t want.

Maybe his lawyer isn’t doing him any favors.

Their son set up a guestbook.

Tru TV has a story line for the case:

So sad. I hope Deleon gets the death penalty, although it’s too good for him.

Their name was Hawks, not Hawkins. That was a typo in the article.
