Obama Victory = Massive Unionization
Human Events ^ | 10/6/2008 | Mark Skousen

Bernard Marcus, co-founder of Home Depot, warns that this legislation is so harmful that it is nothing short of a “hostile takeover” of American business and will result in making the United States uncompetitive in the global world and will ship millions of jobs overseas: “When I asked CEOs if they had heard of this attack on principles that form the bedrock of our democracy -- secret ballots in elections -- only 7 out of 100 raised their hands. And yet, this plan has the potential to redraw the political and economic landscape of America. CEOs, and for that matter all Americans, need to know how this legislation would jeopardize our system of free enterprise.”

Bernie Marcus donated the money and land for the Georgia Aquarium. He also runs and contributes about a dozen other charitable foundations around Atlanta, the nation.

Finally figuring this out? Obama is a liberal, he has promised to support card-check legistlation just as Mark Warner, Mark Udall, and Tom Udall have promised to support it. People wake up. This isn’t just about the Presidency this is about the future of this country. Obama and a Democrat control Congress and Senate will have at a minimum four years to destory this country and if you think he won’t be lifted up like an icon by the left and minorities in this country. The guy will be untouchable once elected and he will have the megaphone of the United States Presidency. People need to understand this is not a small thing.

I think, if he win’s he’s about to preside over a ‘real’ third world country.

EXACTLY. Why on earth is this not a campaign issue. At the BARE minimum, why doesn’t the GOP make these people defend union card check? I have not heard a peep about it. Personally I think it is indefensible. It is a 100% sop to labor unions.

Make these people DEFEND this bill!!

I know a man at work in a high-level position that requires him to fight an ongoing unionization effort. He claims to be pro-life as well. Yet he is a dyed in the wool Obama supporter. The other day we were having a lengthy discussion about Obama vs. McCain, and I brought up the issue of unionization of this company and the fact that an Obama victory will guarantee unionization because the first thing Obama and the Democrats will do is pass the “Employee Free Choice Act”, so we won’t be able to have a secret ballot.

His answer to this was that Obama will never be able to get it passed, even with Democrats controlling both houses of Congress. Note that he didn’t say Obama doesn’t really support it, or that the Dems don’t really support it - just that it will never pass.

So, now, we’re supposed to ignore what the One campaigns for since his supporters assure us that those things will never pass?

It will never pass?!? Is he kidding? This is the crown-jewel for the Democrats. It guarantees a rapid expansion of union ranks, campaign cash, and Democrat voters for decades to come. Your friend needs to get his sh*t straight.

There are 200K TSA employees who will be unionized with the prompt signature of a new President. Doesn’t need congressional approval, only executive order.

Until now, Bush simply hasn’t allowed this to go ahead because of cited national security concerns.

This will change day 1 of a possible Obama Administration.

Surely Bernard Marcus must know that Joe Biden is one of his best customers!

There will be no Obama victory.

How about Obama openly campaigning for his communist cousin Odinga who signed a pact with Muslims to enact Sharia Law if elected and started riots when he lost. Obama campaigned for an openly Anti-American candidate in a foreign country in 2006 at taxpayer expense.

Look, it’s already failed in Congress; several months ago, don’t remember the exact date. Here’s what’s happening: Republicans know it can’t pass, Dims know it can’t pass. BUT, the Dims are raking in MILLIONS from the unions with the promise to pass it. They’ve already stolen a few hundred million from the unions, and they’re just trying to steal a few hundred million more...

It didn’t pass because of a Republican filibuster in the senate and the threat of a presidential veto. Both of those factors could be gone next year if the senate elections turn out favorably for the Dems. They’re projecting at least a 5-6 seat gain as things stand today.
