MANCHESTER NY— Ontario County sheriff’s deputies said a passing motorist saw someone stealing a McCain for President sign from a yard on North Main Street in the village Sunday night, so the motorist called 911.
Deputy Joe Murphy stopped a car — around 8:20 p.m. on Route 96 in Victor — that matched the description given by the caller. He reported finding numerous other signs for McCain and Republican congressional candidate John “Randy” Kuhl — along with some Cub Scout signs — inside in the car driven by Roger B. Wood, 35, of 101 Harper St., Apt. 2, Rochester.
Wood was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle when it was determined that his license had been suspended for failing to answer a summons in Rochester City Court, deputies said.
Wood wasn’t charged with stealing the signs, but the investigation is continuing.
It’s not known what political party Wood belongs to, why he targeted signs for Kuhl and the GOP presidential candidate, or why he also allegedly took Cub Scout signs.

My yard sign is torn down, bent up or ripped nearly every night. Last night it was replaced with an Obama one. I don’t live in a trash neighborhood either. I keep bending it back and taping it up. Have a spare I have used to help spread out the pain between the two.
It started out just getting pushed back. Then taken out and dropped on the yard. then laying near side walk with wire frame bent. Then plastic was torn and wires bent again. Then last night it was torn even more and replaced with an Obama sign. found the McCain sign down the road.
It keeps progressing. Waiting for my tires to get slashed or something eventually.
If this were a hundred years ago, I’d just sit out with the shotgun and settle it man to community organizer.
Today,, what’s the point. Bigger battles may be coming.

She had a McCain Palin and all I had was a McCain so I switched em.
When I got back from Church, they were switched back. I was hoping she wouldn’t notice.

Usually it’s the local Democrat party and its thugs that organizes this kind of activity.
But this year, Obama actually seems to be organizing a lot of this sort of behavior from the top.
Stealing campaign signs is probably one of the recognized activities of a Community Organizer, along with signing up dead people to vote.
So Obama knows all about it. “I’m Barack Obama, and I approve this message.”
He should’ve pulled out a taser and had a little fun ...
From this behavior, one can conclude that Democrats are thieves that don’t respect your right to free speech. But, of course, we don’t need more evidence of that fact.
And why is knowing this relevant to charges being filed?

I doubt it is the same guy. The Roger Wood you located is in FL, this occurred in NY and the report indicates that the defendant has a NY residence address.
Kudos to your for your perseverence. Sorry you have some of those “tolerant” Democrat neighbors skulking around somewhere.

4 years ago we had our signs stolen and then read in the local St Augustine paper that many were being taken.
They got the Dem who was going around taking signs form all over the county of st johns
Now I have just heard that keep normal marriage vote yes on question two (we have the marriage ballot question here in Fl) well some of those have now disappeared and loads of pro homo signs are up at major intersections
saying Jesus doesn’t discriminate, keep Florida families together, course it doesn’t say homo marriage as they are trying to trick people on the ballot question.

I have been livid this isn’t in the media more. It is more recent (since Obama got into the senate), it is very violent and has ties to terrorism.
Unrelated to this case, but a little bit funny, nonetheless.
An Al Franken sign was put up on a public road. The sign wasn’t stolen but someone stapled on an addendum to the top. It read, “Because I’m smart enough.” I laugh every time I think about it. Minnesotans have too much fun! :)
And the newspaper pretends not to know this criminal is a RAT.

During the last election my neighbor placed signs in the highway right-of-way as prescribed by local and state law. Someone kept swerving off the road and running over them. After about the second or third time John simply drove some steel fence posts in at an angle behind the signs. the angle was just right to spear a radiator. The evidence the plan worked was clear a few days later as there was a anti-freeze all over the highway. I don’t know how far the person(s) got, but I imagien they will think twice about swerving for election signs again.
