“John Warner also did this before, refusing to endorse Oliver North for Senate.”

Not only did he not endorse ... when North was up in the polls, Warner recruited Marshall Coleman to run 3rd party to split the R vote, enabling Robb to be the lone survivor among the D’s that year (’94). (has anyone heard of Coleman since that night?) The offset, tho, was on election night, when Warner appeared at the Fairfax GOP Victory Party, he was loudly boo’d by the crowd ... Tom Davis (as I recall) had to beg the crowd to stop it.

I think Warner voted against Clinton impeachment. Pure scum.

The ex-Mr. Elizabeth Taylor gave that treatment and worse to Ollie North when he ran and lost to Chuck Robb in 1994.

Assuming that the Republicans get clobbered in the year’s election, and they very well might, I see the possibility of the formation of a new political party that will take their place. A party that’s a little more conservative and more disciplined.

IIRC, he not only did NOT endorse Ollie, he actively worked for a third party candidate to split the vote and ensure Ollie’s defeat

Warner may not actually be the stupidest member of the Senate (methinks Boxer has pretty much retired that one) but he is sure the leader from “our side”.

As someone who has contact with some of these political pimps, it amazes me that folks in flyover country actually respect them.

Unfortunately, as McCain’s brother rightly observes, Northern Virginia is Stalingrad with a growing population of Marxists who are steadily overwhelming those outside the Beltway.

Gilmore's lucky. What good is an endorsement from a senile old hack politician who at one time married a has been fat immoral actress. I'd rather see the dem Warner in that seat than the old fart who has been occupying it.

This Warner dolt has been a pain in the ass for years! Good riddance, don't let the door hit ya in the butt.
