A SNLIVE satirical skit of the financial crisis bailout. Pelosi, Bush and Barney Frank.
this was actually very funny.
Bush is such a lightweight and they portrayed him spot on.
You're actually being too kind.
Better duck! Incoming.
I agree. Other than an over the top Palin bashing in the opening skit (but they did bash Gwen Ifill quite well with her book plug, and they did make fun of Biden) — it was a pretty even handed episode politically speaking.
George Soros, “Owner, Democrat party”. Wow. It was very telling in that there was almost no laughter at that skit other than the potshots at Bush (which were quite well aimed IMO). The cavalcade of subprime “victims” trotted out was perfect.
Sorry...I gave SNL up for lent 28yrs ago and never went back.
to give Bush a bit of a break the MSM are on Pelosi's side but he and McCain have a pulpit podium they are not using.

"Owner, democratic Party."
Got that one right.
Funny. Thanks..
I was rather surprised that appeared on SNL. Maybe the producers are so desperate for viewers they’ve instructed the writers to begin tapping into the wealth of comedic material known as the Democratic Party.
They’ll regret that screen shot.
And they’re adding weeknight shows leading up to the election - I hope it’s not 100% partisan, but I have no doubt it’s politically motivated AND because their ratings have gotten a boost, mostly due to Tina Fey.
Pelosi needs to blink more.
I liked the “People who should be shot”.
I know... I thought this skit was very telling.
i was actually impressed by how much the SNL writers actually know!!!
Perhaps they should be writing for the AP... at least we’d get some semblance of truth!
In the mean time Chris Matthews will play the Sarah Palin skit repeatedly while this one will not see the light of day.
Na... from what I’ve been reading on FR, I think many here are about done with President Bush... his pushing of the 700-billion might have been the last straw for me personally.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the guy... but I think he’s done.
I liked it except for one part...When the local banker thanked Frank..and the republicans...for blocking reform.
When they have some skits about the moronic gaffes that Obama and Biden have made then maybe I'll tune in.
Actually, the executive producer of SNL, Loren Michaels, donated initially to Chris Dodd for the Dem primaries, then to McCain for the general election. Go figure.
They just don't want to talk about it.
We have a whole month to shove this economic crisis in their faces.
This was good comedy, it hit both sides about equally and had lots of background humor as well as the big hits (Pelosi fending off the second guy's hug, "don't tell him anything he doesn't know")
ping
10 to 1 that is all we hear from NBC on this issue, at least until Nov. 5.
the Deets
that is actually clsoe to the truth
throw in Waters and Dodd and the Black Congressional Caucus and you;d have it
I like that you actually posted the SNL vid from the NBC website instead of You Tube. They always take it down from YT later anyway.
Yup.
This may mark the end of SNL.
It’s demise will be quiet and unobtrusive but the lefties in the “entertainment” media will see to it that SNL fades away.
I saw this last night and couldn’t believe it! Thanks for posting, I didn’t know how.
Heads up - this could turn the tide.
FOX is rerunning Saving the Economy... at 2 EST this afternoon and again at 10:00pm and again at 1:00 in the morning.
They ran it 3 times yesterday.
If you haven’t seen it, you MUST. It is a TOTAL take-down on the demRats regarding the Fannie/Freddie economic debacle.
It names names, shows clips, shows how Bush sounded the alarm and tried to get it reigned it, how the republicans tried to and had hearings - to be shouted down by the demRats and defeated with all demRats voting against, all pubs voting for reigning it in - led by barney and Dodd and Shuckster, how the 2 biggest recipients of the Fannie/Freddie were Dodd and Obama - how a young community organizer, years ago, in Chicago, worked with ACORN to push through these loans for even NO income people - a young community organizer named BO -
This whole program is a total and stark expose laying out who - the demRats - brought this all about and how they blocked every effort by the Republicans to reign it in.
If you have not seen this program - you must. I pray they keep airing this until Nov. It may just wake some people up.
It’s an issue that all America is paying attention to, finally. This program shows them who orchestrated the whole fiasco.
I could hardly believe my ears when I heard it last night. Incredible. So far, I haven’t heard a peep of outrage from the left. I think this scares them to death and they hope it will just go away.
I think there’s going to be some major investigations although, if we don’t give mcC/Sarah a majority in the Senate and House to work with, it won’t matter if barney et al are found absolutely guilty - they will NOT be forced to step down. Take the case of william cold cash jefferson, for ex.
email everyone you know to watch this and email FOX with KUDOS - the more response, the more they’ll air it.
Is FOX Saving the Economy...” on the internet anywhere? YouTube, etc.?
It's an hour long -
We need to email everyone to catch it and TIVO it and send KUDOS to FOX - so they'll keep running it.
They ran it 3 times yesterday and will run 3 times today = just incredible! We need to do everything we can to spread this
BTTT
Is that Gorbachev in the painting behind them?
If so, maybe it was meant to be Pelosi’s living room.
the problem is the economic crisis was not even handed....the FoxNews Special showed Bush, and his Administration tried several times since 2001, 2005 and again to try and get Legislation through reigning in Freddi Mac and Fannie Mae. It is sad that even Republicans have started blaming the Bush Administraion...”lightweight” he$$, the Executive Branch can suggest but not mandate.
The democrats were he$$ bent on ruining America, and they got the job done. I guess Obama knows if you repeat that slogan against Bush enough times, even your enemies start to believe it.
I have seen that video and know it to be false. First of all if Fannie Mae spent 440 billion dollars over the course of 5 years it would be a drastic reduction in funding for the poor.
440 billion would be less than their budget for one year. I’m disappointed in everybody just believing Bush caused anything without investigating.
That's the "don't tell him anything he doesn't know" line came from.
It sure contradicts the MANTRA OF DEMS in accusing the Bush policies and Bush Admin doesn’t it.
It’s a gret piece. Except the people who NEED to see it won;t tune into FOX on a bet. Right-wing biased network, you know.

See link at post 43
Interestingly, NBC has pulled the video and so has YouTube...
Hmmmm....I wonder why??
