We receive alJazeera English in Israel and excluding the jaundiced reports on our country, they do some useful reporting from elsewhere.
On Thursday, Oct. 2, late afternoon our time Pakistan Prime Minister Gilani was interviewed by Kamal Hyder, the alJazeera reporter there formerly with CNN. Hyder asked him, do you know where Osama bin Laden is? Answer, No and he may be dead.
This is the Pakistan PM with access to their intelligence and I've been waiting for the MSM to publicize this answer. Was he just talking through his hat or is that what the Pakistan government believes? Nothing of the interview was picked up by the wire services and Gilani talked about all the issues facing Pakistan.
If someone is connected with a news operation, it might be worth a call to Kamal Hyder to get the exact quote and then ask Gilani on what did he base his answer. (The show was called Talk to Jazeera.)

You may be right. We see and hear Zawaheri now and then, but the tall guy has been out of sight for a long time. A couple of questionable audios, but that’s all.

I believe he is dead. Bhutto believed he was dead. There certainly is no evidence he is alive. I guess his remains rotted in a cave near the border.

Reliable media sources say that he died of fright when he was told that Obama-Biden will seek him out and kill him.

I remember seeing an interview with James Cameron (Titanic) in the late 1990s on the topic of fabrication of audio/video. He said that if the a or v was more than a few days after the actual event, even late 90s tech was good enought to fool experts.
All of Osama’s post Tora Bora “appearances” referenced events that were many weeks or months past.
My guess is that he was killed at Tora Bora.
