It is my opinion that McCain’s choices will be more conservative than Obama’s..given their histories and voting records.
Of course a dem senate would make it very difficult to get a conservative confirmed.

Right now there is an email running around Arizona. It castigates Palin's daughter for not running to Planned Parenthood to "learn about her body". I got it from the registered Republican females in my family, who actually side with that notion (and um, they are all in Arizona). they aren't atypical.
Maricopa County may be a Republican stronghold, but its not religious conservatives - more economic, libertarian conservatives. Tucson is actually quite a bit to the Left of that. It's no accident that Sandra Day O'Connor or her sister Ann Day think the way they do - that's the norm there, actually. Sandy Babee went even further left when she hit DC; must be impressionable.
So that is the mindset of the place where he allegedly comes from.
If Here's Johnny appoints any one to the right of Souter, it will be because he's blackmailed into it by the remaining Republicans in the House. But don't worry, there won't be many of them, and he doesn't mind that in any event. The other side is where his heart is.

And there were few good district/circuit judges added by Carter.
So yes, I’ll believe history: Republicans have a better record at appointing SCOTUS justices than ‘rats.
