Palin Didn't Read Pre-Prepared Answers (Moonbats claim Palin "cheated" during debate)
The Atlantic ^

Posted on 10/03/2008 2:35:09 PM PDT by Chet 99

ThinkProgress and other liberal entities analyzed the tape from last night's vice presidential debate and seem to believe that Gov. Sarah Palin brought a sheaf of talking points to her lectern and simply read them.

That's not what happened.

Debate rules prohibited candidates from bringing any pre-prepared material with them.

Only blank paper and writing utensils were provided.

So to the extent that Palin seemed to be reading, it was because she had, during the course of the debate or during Joe Biden's answers, written down some notes. Clearly, she had memorized talking points and wrote them down when she got to the podium. But that's not what's being alleged.

Biden did the same thing -- you can see him jotting down some notes and then referring to them before speaking.

No conspiracy here.

“Clearly, she had memorized talking points and wrote them down when she got to the podium”

Probably, but not “Clearly”.

Easy enough to verify...there were three cameras BEHIND the podiums.

As I was watching last night, I saw her looking down a lot. Then I saw Biden doing the same thing. I was so convinced this would become an issue (about Palin) that I was going to make a YouTube video of Biden and all the times he was looking at his notes to throw it back in their faces. Diod not have time to do it but someone with YouTube skills who wants LOTS of hits should make it fast.

I’d be willing to say that Palin is a dim bulb if she was running against Abraham Lincoln and William Jennings Byan. But Obama and Biden? All they do is regurgitate talking points. That’s all any candidate does these days. It’s the best way not to put your foot in your mouth.

Well, it is official, Gov Palin won the debate, the same thing was said about John McCain at the Saddleback Forum.

And he clearly won the day on that one.

Karl Rove was in the audience with a new laser teleprompter which can focus her prepared comments directly on her retina. If she had faced the audience the reflection off her glasses might have hit them, giving away their secret plan. That's why she faced the TV camera. < /sarcasm which could kill small animals at 20 feet>

The poor lefties.  What a sad lot.  Our candidates win and they must have ear pieces in.  The debate staff make sure there are no ear pieces, and then the lefties convince themselves that talking points must have been ferreted in.

No lefties.  It's going to be hard for you to grasp, but you candidates actually are that daft.  We watch them all the time.  You don't.  We see their brain dead moves.  You don't.  You're too busy trying to prove George Bush and Dick Cheney are the next Hitler.  Well, good luck with that.

Meanwhile our candidates will continue to kick the political snot out of your candidates at every opportunity.  And these debates are a fantastic opportunity.

Biden was probably copying things down so he can plagarize them in his future speeches.

Oh, puleez! She didn’t need no stinkin’ notes. She was being fed the answers through that earpiece in her right ear. You know, that ear that was facing in Biden’s direction.

Libspeak: Rethuglicans are simple-minded, non-thinking dolts so she must have been reading talking points smuggled in secretly.

Translation: Palin did so well that even the lefty brain trust can’t believe it.

Of course she did not. Candidates cram before debates and rehearse answers dozens of times. It ends up being dueling sound-bites that may or may not have anything to do with the question asked. Thats why these things rarely sway voters unless somebody says something stupid.

“I’d be willing to say that Palin is a dim bulb if she was running against Abraham Lincoln and William Jennings Byan.”

Why are you so quick to say that Gov. Palin is a dim bulb? I’m wondering what credentials you have to make that judgement? I’d be willing to bet that Licoln ... oh and it’s William Jennings BryanT (guess only a dim bulb would make THAT mistake) would think she’s an accomplished woman and treat her with respect.

If memorizing talking points were a crime Obama would have left his debate in handcuffs.

I’m sure the irony is lost on them.

Dim bulb? She didn't look dim to me. She was poised and confident. She's been on the national stage for 5 weeks and lit up the entire venue. Both Lincoln and Douglas would have been proud of Sarah.

When the camera was trained on her at one point while Biden was talking, she was scribbling notes.

IMHO, that little gesture was far more impressive to most Americans than what the esteemed Senator was saying.

It is not the big things that are going to sink Obama/Biden. It's the littlest of things.

Biden had the questions slipped to him with his downers, sometime before the debate.

Inquiring minds want to know, is that a violation of the rules?

Answer (same as for why is Gwen Ifil allowed to moderate): He’s a Democrat. There are no rules.

Meanwhile, those wily McCainiacs were feeding a series of erroneous answers to Biden to make him look stupid. Unfortunately the MSM did not report this because they did not notice the errors.

But they manage to to keep one inserted at all time, just the same. Half the time, it is their running mate's, which is even harder to acheive.

Hubbie the Hump, the candidate whose mouth was full of tongue; Obambi/Biden, the candidates whose mouths are full of feet.

I suppose I should clarify that I might consider her dim, but only relative to Lincoln, whom I consider a genius. Compared to the average person, I’d say Palin’s sharp.
