Sarah Palin strode onto the stage, cheeky from the start. "Can I call you Joe?" The normally voluble Joe Biden seemed restrained by comparison as Palin made her play for the working-class, Joe Sixpack voters that have been his bread and butter as a politician. She's short on facts, but she has command of phrases ("We're mavericks!") and she strings them together with good effect. Biden looked on with a mixture of awe and horror as she did her every-woman show, winking at the camera, celebrating hockey moms and giving a shout-out to her brother's third-grade class.
She succeeded in quieting calls from worried Republicans that she should get off the ticket, that she had become an embarrassment after interviews with CBS anchor Katie Couric revealed her shallow grasp of national issues. Polls taken immediately after the debate showed Palin did little to improve her standing as someone ready to be president, but she is expert at tapping into the attitudes and resentments of small town America—even if when you listen to what she says, it's mostly gibberish when it comes to actual plans and policies.

IMO, her column stating that Gov Palin should withdraw was so vapid that she does not deserve to have her full name used.

Obama is the most imperious, nose-in-the-air poser ever to make it onto the national political scene. He is definitely an elitist snob with little reason to be so. And his ‘intellect’ is nothing to be impressed with. Who knows what his academic ‘accomplishments’ are as he is about the only nominee on record about whom almost nothing is known. Grades, SATs, LSAT? Affirmative action admittance to Harvard Law?
But back to the intellect. He is one of the inarticulate candidates ever without his teleprompter. He becomes muddled and confused without it, or when questions come up he had no memorized answer for. He’s a poser, and Eleanor Clift and all her coharts can’t put out enough meaningless words to change that fact.
Noonan later said words that meant, “OMG, I got caught being honest in public!” Take my word for it; I speak fluent Female. There wasn’t a woman on the convention live thread who feel for that “apology.”
I’m still waiting for someone to provide evidence - like grades, SAT scores, patents, etc. - of Obama’s alleged intelligence. And what foreign languages does he speak?
I thought she was a “has been”.

Plagiarizing, voting against the Alaska Pipeline, having his womans bill declared unconstitiutional, losing 2 Pres. bids, gaffing every single day. Really, what has this man done of consequence in 35yrs?
