Lord we pray for our President and ask that you fill him full of wisdom. Teach him to follow your decrees. Give to him understanding in order to keep you statutes and to obey it willingly. Let him find delight walking with you and may he lay down his will for Yours.
Lord we also pray for Senator McCain and Governor Palin Give them the weapons that they need to demolish arguments and pretensions that come their way. Keep them from the snares that the enemy had laid before them and let them pass by in safety.
Heavenly Father we lift up our men and women who protect us each day. Let then not be afraid nor dismayed but may they know that you are with them helping them and strengthening them and you will hold them in you hand. We ask all these things in your Son’s name, amen.
Come and join us in prayer.

Holy God,
Your Word tells us that You are ever watchful for those who will stand in the gap through prayer and intercession. We bow before You in humbleness and faith to stand in the gap for our country and this presidential election. Father, we pray for a revelation to all voters regarding the issue of life in this election. Fifty MILLION babies have been aborted. There should be no question about whom we select as our leader, Lord. May we honor You with this choice and may we make every effort to right the wrongs that have been wrought over the nearly 40 years of legalized abortion. Help us, Dear God. Our choices reflect our love for You and Your Creation. May we choose wisely. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Lord, thank You for watching over us this day. We can use all the help, hope, wisdom and strength we can muster. It seems we have no control over this government.
We deserve what we receive, Lord. If we are to be punished for the sins of our society, so be it. Teach us your truth and let us help others to find their way.
Watch over those need your caring touch.
Thank you Lord for the Blessings of this day, and they are many. Thank you for being with Sarah Last night in Debate, and for hearing all the prayers that were lifted up for Sarah. I pray for continued protection from evil for Sarah and her Family, Please protect her son in Iraq, and Please protect all our troops in Iraq, and Sen. Biden’s son as he goes to Iraq.

The American Library Association has designated this week as Banned Books Week in celebration of the freedom to read and to express one’s opinion “even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular.”
The Bible is the all-time bestselling book, but in some parts of the world it is banned because it’s considered dangerous. The Bible is dangerous, however, only to those who fear finding out that they are wrong. It’s dangerous to those who exploit the weak and the innocent, who use force to keep others enslaved in poverty and ignorance, who don’t want to give up their favorite sin, who believe that salvation can be found apart from Christ.
No one wants to be told they are wrong. No one wants to hear that their behavior is putting themselves and those they love in danger or that God’s patience will eventually wear out. Yet that was the message God told Jeremiah to write (Jer. 36:2). When His message was read to King Jehoiakim, the king cut up the scroll and threw it into the fire (v.23).
The only way to know we are right is to be willing to discover where we are wrong. Read the all-time bestselling banned book, and let it reveal to you the truth about God—and about yourself.
Father, I stand with these, Your children, in prayer, thanking You in advance for forgiveness, blessings and grace. We lift up President Bush and his family, as well as John McCain and Sarah Palin and their families. Thank You, Father, for answered prayer in regard to Sarah, for granting even more than we could have expected in the debate! We pray that You would continue to be with Senator McCain and Sarah on the campaign trail and for our nation’s future that is so critical. Praise be to Your Holy Name! To You be all the glory!
