After-Debate Report - The GOP "Debate Watching Party" in St. Louis, MO (Palin Attends)
N/A | 10/2/08 | scott7278

Posted on 10/02/2008 9:52:49 PM PDT by scott7278

I'm just leaving Chaifetz Arena on the campus of St. Louis University - what a night! After some pre-debate entertainment, thousands of GOPers settled in to watch Palin destroy Biden on several big screens.

After the convincing win, Gov. Palin came by to deliver a speech, along with her family. They were on "The Straight Talk Express," and the bus literally pulled into the arena, some 30 feet from the stage. We were promised a big entrance, and she certainly didn't disappoint!

At one point during the speech, some members of a group with a pink banner - presumably Code Pink - began interrupting her from the upper balcony. A young man ran over to them, grabbed the banner, wadded it up, and threw it. The look on their faces was priceless.

After they were led out, Gov. Palin pointed out that they just don't get it - our soldiers are serving overseas to fight for their freedoms.

The place was electric, and in my opinion, there is no candidate that McCain could have picked that would have garnered this much excitement.

She expressed the desire to see the "Gateway to the West" become the "Gateway to the White House." All I can say is that I'm fully on board!

Palin Power!

You’re so lucky! McCain is ahead here in Arizona so I don’t think they’ll be coming here . . .Too bad. . .I’d definitely go to see them.

What code pink doesn’t understand, is that every soldier VOLUNTEERS for duty. They are not being forced to fight. Our sons are the ones they say they are fighting for, but Sarah and I have sons who don’t want them spouting their wicked hate filled speech!

Scott, I was there too and agree with your assessment. I did not see the Pinkos because I was on the west side of the arena in front of the stage; the huge American flag hid them from view. It is funny that they maybe pinkos, because I told my sister before the debate that I thought some Code Pinkos were in the house. She asked my why I thought that and I replied, "Because the women I saw LOOKED like Code Pinkos!" (Small shifty eyes, inappropriately dressed, and I think I detected a rather racid odor from lack of shaving under the arms and using pit juice!)

Sarah Palin is a great, classy lady and I am proud that she is representing not only the Conservative cause but also women.

Some of you guy and gals tell me if I am wrong but it seemed that Old Joe Biden was being just a lot condescending and was about as negatives as a person could be and still not blow his stack.

You could just see the smug look of I'm the great Joe Biden and have to debate err...set this ignorant rube from some 57th backwoods state on the straight and narrow of how it works in Washington D.C.

CNN had some uncommitted focus group and a graph.

Each time Biden started to speak the green and orange lines would jump and when Palin responded the lines would either stay the same or go below the median line.

That leads me to believe that these people already had their minds made up before the two candidates spoke.

CNN and PMSNBC just don't get it.

The entire FOX panel gave the win to Palin, and the Luntz focus group of undecided voters went heavily in Palin’s favor.
ABC gave it to Biden, CBS was mixed, but interesting enough when Brokaw was signing off NBC’s debate coverage he said something like, “The democrats are probably happy there is only one VP debate after tonight.”
So over all...very positive.

Just ignore the typical CNN and CBS flash polls of Obama leaning “undecided” voters..lol
Yes, CBS admitted their panel of undecideds were indeed all leaning Obama BEFORE the debate. No agenda there..nah..none at all.

I didn’t find out about it until a few days before the event, via email. I was really tired, but decided to go anyway. The roar for Gov. Palin was so loud that my ears felt like I had been at a concert...

The great thing is that they didn’t even get their message out. Their banner was taken, and they were led out before you even knew it.

Epic Fail!

There was certainly smugness, and he let out one of those exasperation breaths at one point, but I enjoyed seeing that wide smile when he knew he couldn’t win, like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

I loved the banner stunt, I was right across from them when it happened! Hi-freakin-larious!! There were three youngish girls near us that had on Obama t-shirts and they kept going up to the balcony and taking pictures of each other with Sarah in the background while they displayed their t-shirts.... Glad to see kids are taking the future of this country as seriosly as they always have. Good news is, they rarely get out of bed to vote.
Sarah was great and how about that entrance?!?!? Drove the campaign bus on to the floor of the arena!!! Great stuff! Yeah, I’m still pretty high from the whole thing..

One of her greatest attributes is that she’s REAL, and a great communicator — just a genuinely nice person. You could see it when she was signing autographs for the crowd. Her smile is real; her love for people is evident.

She’s a breath of fresh air. I would love to work for her campaign.

I posted on another thread that either the MSM has done one hell of a hatchet job on Sara or else John McCain is the smartest politicians we have known in modern times.

Posting:

“I wonder whether or not Sara's somewhat bad showing in those interviews with Catty Couric and Charlie Gibson may have been planned by John McCain.
McCain knowing full well that this little Moose skinner from Alaska could not only take this Washington insider but skin the old Goat so to speak.”

I never thought I would get so excited over a candidate...I’m still on a high, too. She was in her element tonight — unedited and in control.

The entrance was amazing. Let’s hope they ride this wave all the way until November. Keep her visible!

I was talking with an older gentleman in our row who was a lifelong Democrat until the Johnson Administration, when he began to think about where the Democrat Party was headed.

He adores Palin, and said that McCain was a genius for choosing her for VP. I concur, although there’s no doubt that the MSM was trying to discredit her. I think Palin pulled a rope-a-dope on them.

Two geniuses on one ticket.

You’re right; their heads must be spinning. They wonder how they can manufacture something like that, not knowing that people actually relate to her.

They’re jealous.

He tried hard to show her as a rube and she just stood there and took it all in and showed him to be nothing but a Washington insider.
