To clarify - I thought that Biden said he had visited the refugee camps in Chad, not the camps in Darfur/Sudan.

He said he'd been in camps in Chad. Presuming he meant refugee camps, and knowing Darfur borders Chad, it's not difficult to imagine he spoke accurately.

There are definitely refugee camps FOR refugees from Darfur, located within the borders of Chad. I took Biden to mean that he had visited refugee camps within Chad, but the refugees are from Darfur in the Sudan. Biden made plenty of mistakes and some outright lies but that was not one of them.
OTOH, I agree that Biden saying that he would be in every significant meeting “helping” Obambi govern, participating in every decision, certainly made it sound (to me) like he was dangerously far into the territory of implying that Obambi needs such handling. OK, he does, we all recognize that, but it was rather impolitic of Biden to say it. Will anyone in the media bring this up?
