UPDATED CBS News and Knowledge Networks have conducted a nationally representative poll of 473 uncommitted voters to get their immediate reaction to tonight's vice presidential debate.
After the first presidential debate, a similar survey showed that more uncommitted voters identified Barack Obama as the winner
Final numbers from tonight's poll have yet to come in, but we do have some early results. (These numbers may change as more respondents complete the survey.) They suggest that once again more voters have responded favorably to the Democratic candidate.
Forty-six percent of the uncommitted voters surveyed say Democrat Joe Biden won the debate, compared to 21 percent for Republican Sarah Palin. Thirty-three percent said it was a tie.
Eighteen percent of previously uncommitted percent say they are now committed to the Obama-Biden ticket. Ten percent say they are now committed to McCain-Palin. Seventy-one percent are still uncommitted.
Both candidates improved their overall image tonight. Fifty-three percent of those surveyed say they now have a better impression of Biden. Five percent say they have a worse opinion of the Delaware senator, while 42 percent say they debate did not change their opinion.
Fifty-five percent say they now have a better opinion of Palin. Fourteen percent say they have a worse opinion, while 30 percent say their opinion hasn't changed.
After the debate, 66 percent see Palin as knowledgeable about important issues – up from 43 percent before the debate. But Biden still has the advantage on this – 98 percent saw him as knowledgeable after the debate. That figure was 79 percent before the debate.

The fact of the matter is that Biden came off well tonight. He only made two major gaffes: gay marriage and picking judges based on ideology.
McCain could exploit both to great success, the only question is whether he will or not. If he doesn’t, he probably doesn’t deserve to win.

WooHoo...what an ego-builder for me. Before the debate ever started, I predicted the “polls” would call Biden the winner! Maybe I’m physic or something!
CBS actually disclosed on TV that this “uncommitted” panel was leaning Obama pre-debate.
It’s obvious they surveyed a host of weak minds with weak eyes.
However Biden came off it would be nice if there was a way to subtract the lies from his performance and then judge him.
Ohhhh, watch out for the guy he talked to at the gas pump. Might not be some average guy but a washington liberal lobbyist.

Biden performance is impaired by him for not being factual- lying with ease.
Palin did VERY well. America saw all they needed to see from her to feel safe with pulling the lever for her. McCain on the other hand has his work cut out for himself and he has 4 weeks to get it done in.

These reactions from MSM may work in GOP favor. People who watched and listened know what they actually saw and heard and will know that it does not match the biased reporting. It may begin to make them wonder what else is disingenuous in reporting.
The spin is on. I’m watching all the talking heads online and on the Internet now spinning things as a Biden win. Same thing they did after the McCain debate and eventually planting the seed that there was no doubt about the outcome amongst those who did not watch.
I wonder if there is such a thing as an undecided voter. How brain dead do you have to be to not know who you’re voting for after this nonstop 2 year campaign?

I’m so friggin sick of “uncommitted” voters BS!! Typical uncommitted voter, “I’m too stupid to understand the difference between democracy and communism/socialism, but I thought Biden’s plugs looked very natural.”
Well, unfortunately for the liars and the spinners too many people already declared Sarah the winner, even Brokaw signed off with a comment that was telling, he said he bets the Dems are probably happy there is only one vp debate.
So there ya’ go.
Also, I bet a lot of people watched this debate compared to last week, so the liars and spinners will not prevail on the lie Biden won tonight.
Don’t worry about that. When you see how many people tuned in to watch this, you’ll be happy with the number, I’m sure. Every one of them knows who won the debate.
