Bill O'Reily -vs- Franks

Posted on 10/02/2008 8:52:31 PM PDT by jmpmstr4u2

Did anyone see O'Reily go off on Barnie Frank. I am not an O'Reily fan but that was hilarious. I thought Bill gave it to him good. What are your thoughts?

O’Reilly missed a big opportunity by not having done his homework. Frank is much more culpable than BOR intimated, and the best BOR came up with was suggesting that Frank recommended Fannie stock as a good investment. Frank’s responsibility for the mess goes far, far beyond that and BOR never hit him on it substantively, substituting theater for substance.

I can’t stand O’Reily, but I saw a clip of the interview. He totally spanked Barney, and in this case, Barney did not enjoy it.

Dick Morris doesn’t like Colmes and vice versa. The two of them go at it all the time. Usually with subtle jabs, but occasionally they really mix it up. Morris has no patience for Colmes and his Dem talking points.

LOVED IT!!!

I am a BIG fan of O’Reilly’s, but I admit to getting pretty disgusted with his attempts to be “FAIR” to Obama, by not hammering him, when it’s called for...

But Bill really destroyed FRANK, tonight!

Frank deserved every second of it, too!!!! O’Reilly needs to keep that fire going now, and not let up!!!

O'Reilly made a complete ass of himself. He went apoplectic over the fact that Bawney said a short time ago that Fannie Mae (or was it Freddie?) wasn't that bad of stock for investors and people lost money. He never calmed down for a minute to point out that Fwanks claim of blamelessness simply because he was in the minority until '07 is total BS. From a minority position the Dems, with Fwank at the lead, worked mightily to frustrate any and all oversight or reform. Their commitment to "affordable housing" demanded it.

Bawney is more liable in this crisis than any other living person because his decades long ideologically driven campaign to loosen lending standards, with the carrot of FM/FM along with the stick of massive fines for supposed "redlining", is brought us to this point. O'Reilly is to dense to even fathom such an obvious conclusion because he is non-ideological, you know. No spin and such.

I do not give a rat fink about that joke, of which both are.
BOR is in everything for himself, and he can change at the drop of a hat, if it benefits him.
Frank, well, he is pittsville.

That’s a good assesment, O’Reilly is not very strong on debating the facts and making an honest case.

How could he not call out Franks on this groaner? “The Republicans were in the majority and they couldn’t get reform through”. Yeah, Franks, that’s because you blocked them in committee! Unreal.

You have to give O’Reilly credit for the last line though “Yeah, I’m the dumb guy but you presided over the biggest financial crisis in American history!” Good one, Bill.

It was hilarious. The highlight was when Bwarney took issue with BOR’s request that Bwarney ‘take it like a man’!

‘Bwill, I don’t twink you otta say such as that ...’

Bwarney, ‘take it like a man’ ... hoo hoo!!

Sounds about par for the BOR show...always blocks the shot when his opponent is on the verge of making an own goal, just because he hasn’t heard himself speak in 5 or so seconds.

Yup,
O’Reilly really let Frank have it. Almost as funny as Dick Morris taking down Alan Colmes after the debate when Colmes started reading talking points. Dick Morris was PISSED.

I agree to a point, but remember the segment is about 8 minutes long. When two adults are screaming at each other, not a lot of information is being transmitted. A lot of emotion was, though. Perhaps with a longer segment, more stuff would have come out. Who knows? We all know it's there.

I’m now waiting for Greta to show the tape - and it looks hot .. and it’s about damn time somebody took Franks apart .. Heaven knows McCain won’t do it.

I’m in San Diego - and it’s only 9:34 - and the Greta and O’Reilly shows were pre-empted for the debate.

I’m also not the biggest fan of Bill’s - but I’m glad he’s beginning to take some of these crooks on.

I’m not a Morris fan .. but I dislike Alan even more.

But tonight, Morris slapped Alan a good one - and stopped Alan in his tracks. I wish more guests would do that to Alan and maybe he would stop his constant over-talking .. that drives me nuts and I usually just change the channel.

I've seen the YouTube video from 2004 where several Republicans are trying for more regulation and oversight of F&F. Barney Frank is right there with several other Democrats refusing. Frank says there is no systemic problems at F&F.

When are these guys going to learn that the Internet won't let them tell baldfaced lies like the biased liberal old media did.

Frank trying to claim that he reformed the FM’s in 2007 when he’s on tape in 2004 saying that all is well with them and to even suggest they have a problem would make it more difficult for them to do their job (ie give away free houses to buy votes for the ‘rats) is hilarious - these people don’t understand just how ludicrous they look to anyone with half a brain or better......

With the total cover and help of the MSM ,blatant CROOKS like Franks and Dodd are now portrayed as great statesmen and problem solvers when in fact they are at the heart of the serious problems we now face.
Both received MILLIONS from the very institutions that are bankrupting the economy. They did the dirty work in facilitating and encouraging the horrible practices—
and now the MSM pretends they are solving the crisis-
It is DISGUSTING-
I am so furious and beside myself that I literally cannot take it anymore.
The media is so in the tank and useless—they are no longer to be taken seriously.
We have all been very aware of the bias and unfairness of the media ,but now they have crossed so far beyond the line that they are now to be considered a clear and present danger to the public.
The MSM is an enemy of the people- Will enough people wake up and see what is going on?, or is it a lost cause and this country is on the road to destruction ? How can total CRIMINALS like Dodd and Franks be reelected time and time again? It is really scary......(rant/off) :(

I can’t stand BOR, BUT on this show, he did good!

I almost fell out of my chair when he called him, “One eyed Frank.” I may have taken that comment differently than some would and loved the shot, but I can’t believe he called him that in public.

Okay, but the point is driven home in scandals like this not with details but with theater.

I say O’Reilly deserves significant credit for this because he brings the issue to light.
