Terry McAuliffe, the former Democratic National Committee chairman and Clinton family confidant, plans to run for Virginia governor
(Excerpt) Read more at elections.foxnews.com ...
I thought he lived in NY?
Uh NI! Tell me it is not unopposed?
No barf alert?? I can’t imagine this guy as a Gov. Is he trying to set himself up for a White House run...GOD HELP US.
I just threw up in my mouth a little....
I hear that....
I can’t imagine him winning..but then again,we DID get Kaine.
Lock & load!
Then I plan to attend every one of his Northern VA events wearing my old (pre-bankruptcy) Global Crossing jacket. "HEY TERRY! You made $18 million on your $100K Global Crossing investment and all I got was laid off."
Gotta use that Global Crossing dough for something.
Nice to get inside info on a collapsing stock.
I must have been out when MY call came...
I just met him at a Randy Forbes rally. Seemed like a nice guy and my neighbor knows him well. I haven’t checked him out yet. But if McAuliffe runs I’d support McDonnell with all my heart and soul.
I met him once as well. His daughter had just returned from duty in Iraq that day, and he was going to see her. Seemed like a real nice guy and a very polished politician.
He will run for president one day. Maybe against Haley Barber?
No, look at this way: God loves you and wants you to be amused.
Amazing how McAuliffe's "small" investment (believe it was $100,000) in Global Crossing brought him a sweet-heart $16,000,000 return... obviously learned from the Hildabeasts' school of investing.
I would hammer this McAuliffe turd over and over again about this ill-gotten gain during his campaign for governor.
Full disclosure: My $3000 in GX turned into a very small pile of pennies on the dollar. Me bitter? Yes. Me still angry? Yes.
Turn crooks like McAuliffe on their heads and make them pay.
Lord, give us Tom Jackson back so we can set up a moonbat-free zone here in the Old Dominion. (please)
It must mean Clinton is out of Presidential politics...
Oh my God. Terry McSlimeball. He better hope Obama does not win because Virginia always goes opposite of the country since they have their guvna election one year after the presidentil election.
Bob McDonnell isn’t no Jerry Kilgore. He will take Terry to the woodshed.
Look what primordial scum is trying to rise up in ole Vuhginny...
I’ve been “amused” enough with Tim Kaine our current embarrassment. And the a**hole always says he’s speaking for all Virginians. I could not handle this. I’ve got to come out from hiding behind the couch sometime.
Of the three, Deeds would be the biggest challenge. He barely lost to McDonnell for AG. He's pro-gun, rural and folksy. We need him to lose the primary.
Can’t Win!
The reason why Caine, Warner, and Senator Temper won, is because they are see as “moderate” southern Democrats (which they aren’t but that’s another story..). Terry McAweful is seen as, and is a far-left looney Moovon.com Democrat! He won’t fit well in the heartland-South and Western VA: I went to college there not too long ago.
True, but McDonnell now has a much higher profile than Deeds. I think Deeds has the best chance to win the primary. I don't see Terry McAuliffe playing all that well in VA. He's too slick.
I have been laughing at this since I saw the headline. There is so much there on McAuliffe I cannot believe he is running.
I’m just not sure. The Dems are pretty cocky these days. They may look at the fact that neither Warner or Kaine were “from” Virginia and think they can do it with McAuliffe.
The Punk!!!
> this puts the Virginia Dems into a three-way primary between Creigh Deeds<
Creigh is at least a decent guy, and he’s a NATIVE. I don’t know anything about Brian Moran.
Moran is the younger brother of Congressman Jim “domestic violence” Moran.
born and raised in Syracuse I believe...
>Im just not sure. The Dems are pretty cocky these days. They may look at the fact that neither Warner or Kaine were from Virginia and think they can do it with McAuliffe.<
I’m holding my opinion on what happened with the Webb election until after November. I am sorry, but I think TPTB of the Dem slimocracy has been tinkering with our elections. If they hold those Richmond results until the very last this time, we better darn well raise a stink.
>Moran is the younger brother of Congressman Jim domestic violence Moran.<
Well isn’t THAT special.
/sarcasm
I don’t discount voter fraud, but the Richmond votes wouldn’t have changed the results for Allen.
That's not like a former Soviet Republic or something, right? Not like Georgia as in the country, but Virginia USA? Yeah, he'll get crushed.
We have enough crap in our state as it as. We don’t need the “thug” here.
Talk about a carpetbagger.
We will have our usual VA GOP scenario. McDonnell and Bolling will compete for the party nomination, and destroy each other in the process. McAuliffe will skate to the Dem nomination. And the governor’s office.
So our governor can’t run for re-election to the same office but our Lt Gov can? Or is the earlier post that McDonnell will run for gov incorrect ? I am so out of the loop.
You're a few weeks (months?) behind the times. Bob McDonnell and Bill Bolling have already agreed that McDonnell will run for Governor, Bolling will run for a second term as Lt. Governor. The only primary fight the GOP will have is for the AG.
And yes, Lt. Governor can run for a second term (think Don Beyer). Governor cannot.
Thanks, Corin ... I said I was out of the loop! Glad for once two GOP candidate can agree not to destroy each other
and to actually run together.
Is it safe to assume the governor non-succession law dates to the civil rights era ?
!!
Where’s that alligator when you need him?
I think a 3-way primary would hurt their chances.
Terry McAuliffe, “the punk”?
This has to be B.S.
Who in their right mind would vote for this piece of excrement?
Other than being Bill Clintons bitch Terry McAuliffe is a zero.
I don’t know for certain. I think it goes back much further.
I signed on with Cuccinelli the day he announced.
Then we’re close to each other on his list :)
Ken sees the handwriting on the wall. His very narrow victory last time reflects the changing political climate in NoVA. Best to get out now and have a political future.
I’ll buy you a cup of coffee at the convention.
Lots of folks, including me, thought the same thing about Kilgore.
I know you’ve got a good knowledge of VA politics. As you could probably tell from my earlier post, I am under the impression that McDonnell’s got the clear shot at running for governor (hence his website). But I thought it was more of a gentlemen’s agreement, which could be derailed by a sudden primary battle, whereas you make it sound like a done deal. Are you as confident as one can reliably be that the nomination is McDonnell’s, or are you just hopeful?
