Palin’s opening remarks MUST include a gracious congratulation to Ifil on the imminent release of her book celebrating Obama. We have to keep the bias of the media in the public view.

I think it would be a blast if the moderator were of all people KARL ROVE.

Wouldn’t that shake them in their shoes???

"I don’t think Ifill should have to step down, that looks like the GOP having too much of a temper tantrum, plus you know the MSM and the DEMS will spin it as racism. However, I do think it would be profession for Ifil to disclose her book and interviews of Obama at the beginning of the debate."

Sorry.

I must respectfully (and vehemently) disagree.

If it were a reporter with a well-known slant to McCain, the left would be howling so loudly that Biden would likely not even show up unless a replacement were named.

And, of course, in the end a replacement would be named.

Of course, that whole scenario would likely never happen; the major hurdle would be finding a MSM reporter who supports McCain.

Here’s a number for the commission: (202) 872-1020

I think they took it off the hook, it's busy every time I auto-dial it.

Freep on!

There actually is no need for a moderator at all. It is actually insulting to propose that some reporter is better able to define the issues than the candidates themselves can.

All it would really take to produce a superior debate would be a chess timer to control each candidate's microphone, so that the candidate who talks the most early will have to suffer in silence at the end.

There are plenty in the MSM who support McCain, though sadly they have to pretend they do not to keep their jobs...

Perhaps Gwen Ifill should be encouraged to recuse herself. Try using this PBS form to give Gwen more direct feedback.

If Ifill’s questioning is biased, Palin will automatically win the debate. PUMAs would be enraged at seeing Palin be the victim in a rigged debate. So, Gwen Ifill could end up being good for us.

Is this sheer insanity or what? Letting a black Obama supporter and pro-Obama book author have control of the one and only vice presidential debate??
And here’s the e-mail address of Janet H. Brown, Executive Director of the Debates Commission: jb@debates.org
FREEP HER OUT WITH PROTESTS. DEMAND IFILL BE REPLACED.

And did you hear McCain telling the nation today that he had every confidence that Ifill would be fair??

Email McCain. Tell him he has an obligation as our candidate to get off his duff and fight back.
To h*ll with bipartisian BS, to h*ll with PC, to h*ll with ‘conducting a respectful campaign’!
Respectful campaigning went out the window with Obama’s nasty, ‘lipstick on a pig’ and ‘You can wrap AN OLD FISH in a piece of paper called change. It’s still going to stink after eight years.’ Take off the gloves, McCain!
Hit the Marxist/Muslim hard with Ayers, Acorn, Violation of Logan Act, Campaigning for Odinga!!

“Complaining to PBS won’t do a thing.”

I don’t agree. PBS relies on public contributions to exist, and they are her employer. They have quite a bit of influence, and I threatened to withhold donations from them with the following email:

“I am absolutely outraged that Glen Ifill is going to be the moderator for the Palin/Biden debate! She has a direct actual conflict of interest in how the election is decided! I am aware that she will make up to $350,000 or more based upon the number of books she sells about Obama. How in the world could you allow her to go forward as the moderator?!!!

As an attorney, I would be severely sanctioned if I had this much of a conflict, yet you have done nothing to stop this. The results of a Presidential election could rest on how she handles this debate. How dare you allow her to continue!!!

I demand that you immediately replace her with Jim Lehrer or some other objective even handed moderator, who can perform with honesty, integrity, and above all, no personal stake in the outcome!

If you do not replace Ifill, I can guarantee you I will never ever contribute donations to PBS again, and I will make sure everybody knows what you did to sway this election in Obama’s favor.

If you don’t believe it, just try me!”
