With the rumor mill buzzing that a discontent Elisabeth Hasselbeck may vacate her cushiony seat on The View for the cool, hard Eames chair of Fox News, it's up to den mother Barbara Walters to restore order on the set of her chat show. True to form, Walters has eschewed hugging it out in favor of a more clinical approach; according to the Chicago Sun-Times, she's had to schedule a staff meeting to deal with the increasingly hot-under-the-collar Hasselbeck:

Conservatives should avoid forums like the View, where they are only used as a foil for the libs. Without a conservative their little debates turn into leftwing circle-jerks (or the equivelant thereof) and viewers will go away.
Barbara Walters might try making love to a fence post. It might cool her down and guide a more rational judgment on a thoroughly perverted show.

Elizabeth has never been very good debater, and just having her leaves the voice for conservatism on the show very weak. Elizabeth even bothers Barbara. She would never put on a conservative like Star Parker, Anne Coulter, or Michelle Malkin.

Elisabeth Hasselback was a guest on the new Huckabee Show on Fox - Sunday morning - and she spoke highly of her antagonists saying things behind the scenes were always pleasant. She took the high road and has done so before on other programs when asked about the turmoil the other women give everything she speaks about.
Even a strong minded woman knows when she is wasting her time. There is nothing to be gained with that group.
Perhaps Huck has asked her to join his show - it was interesting with the exception of Geraldine Ferraro going on too long with rhetorical gover-speak which slowed down the pace. There were some pretty interesting guests there for the birth of the new program - the band could use some help tho...
The View is a wasteland of hasbeens - and Hassleback would definitely improve her CV by getting in with some interesting people - I have no idea who actually watches the View except people who go there for the gifts at the door or out of boredom.

I have only watched the View once when in my Dr.’s office. There was one pretty conservative and several evil sluts. Never will watch it again if I can avoid it.
Years ago, didn’t Barbara Walters announce she was “retiring” on 20/20 and would do occasional projects? Quit now Barbara. You are looking like a bitter old washed up bitty and out of touch with what keeps your show on the air. Most of it being Elizabeth who keeps it hip, conversational and energetic. Add another true Conservative and I might consider watching a episode or two.
If Elizabeth leaves that show then I doubt if it will survie with the other rabid leftwingers. They have really become unhinged this past year and it’s downrigth ungly over there in more ways than one!

Used to watch this show some when it first came on. The day Joy talked about her husband liking to have sex with her when he thought she was asleep was the last day I bothered to watch.

ELiz has gotten a general bad ‘review’ as “not the sharpest stick”. But In My Honest Opinion She’s a far cry better than the other idiots on that show. (and the best dressed/looking to boot)

We gotta remember Elisabeth started on television as a member of one of the early Survivor shows - and she may have been a winner - I forget - but she learned then she could survive anything thrown at her.
