PHILADELPHIA—Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin met with a group of military mothers at a downtown eatery Sunday, the third day of a swing through this Democratic stronghold.

The Alaska governor, along with her 14-year-old daughter, Willow, spent about 45 minutes sipping a skinny white chocolate mocha and talking privately with four women who have children serving in the military overseas. Palin's son, Track, is deploying for service in Iraq.

I believe this lady, Governor Palin, will make decisions based upon what is better for the country; not decisions made to enrich her cronies monetarily. She is not tied to the liberal Washington establishment..both Republican and Democrat. McCain wasn't my first choice, he has warts but his choice in Governor Palin gives me hope.

I've noticed that the Obama Campaign has taken its smear campaign against Governor Palin down to the local level, with Rat talking points going out to the party's acolytes, who in turn then write letters to the local news rags and post garbage on their forums.

I've been tangling with several of these local operatives over the past several days. They are vicious but dumb. The current talking point that I've seen repeatedly this weekend is that Palin is an "airhead" and a "ditz" and should go back to Alaska to take care of her "ever-growing" family.

The guerilla war in the media and on the web continues.

“hear tell on FR you would think she was locked up in a cage somewhere.”

Speaking of VP candidates, wonder what good old Joe is doing?

Probably making a stump speech, about now, stating that he and Obama had nothing to do with the bailout bill.

The democratic party has done this since it’s inception. Matter of fact, it was how the party was created.

The web is just the new ‘front’ in the guerilla war.

McCain and Palin are just new targets.

The War between good and evil continues.

The Media , in their typical childish fashion , has decided that since Palin refuses to let them eat her alive , they won’t cover her on the campaign trail .

It seems like she has just up and disappeared ....

McCain is mired in Washington and B.O. is out picking up more and more votes as we type ....

If the McCain campaign doesn’t come out with a massive last push , we will lose .

We know she supports military moms.

But why isn’t she on Fox News right now, intead of Joe Biden and Hussein Obama?

Why is she being kept low-key?

The McCain campaign is spoiling the energy, they tapped with this brilliant move.

It’s evaporating.

Get her out there please!

I totally agree. The only possible reason that I see the campaign limiting her , is to head off any chance of Palin fatigue . She dominated the news quite intensely , so it gives people a chance to absorb her.

They are also prepping her for the shredding of Blowhard Biden in the debate .

I agree and disagree (nothing like being certain!)

The Media is dying to cover her on the campaign trail. They were there at this event, however, they were ‘limited’ to some quick initial coverage. Because Sarah Palin is in charge of her campaign, and her visits, and they aren’t.

The concern she has just up and disappeared is only temporary. Notice the MSM isn’t wondering where Joe Biden is.

I’m not sure who is picking up more votes, because we haven’t voted yet, and polls are another ‘tool’ the MSM and Marxists (dems, whatever) use to lead the weak-minded, and ill-informed.

I think the McCain campaign will come out with a Massive Last Push, but it’s too early for that. In general, the public, the media, (including the internet) only has a retention(interest) rate of about two weeks.

I, like you, am concerned that no matter how good McCain/Palin seem to be, no matter how big the last push, that we could lose.

Obama is already implicated in tons of scandals, and it hasn’t fazed him yet.

I’ll take all the honest meetings with Sarah Palin with no media coverage, and put them up against the hyped meetings with Biden or Obama.

Besides, give the lady a break. The Debate was a major concern of the media and public. Sarah had a good ‘talk’ with other military moms. And had a little ‘privacy’ so they could open up and speak freely.

If it were just a ‘photo-op/campaign strategy’, like the dems do, I would be more upset.

Sarah can meet with all the military moms, in private, or limited settings, that she wants. I think the more she does what is ‘right’, instead of just what it takes to get elected, is further proof she deserves to win.

I would rather play fair and lose, than cheat and win.

The DNC strategy is just the opposite, it seems.

I thought he was the all-knowing Senator with SO MUCH experience and that’s why NObama picked him. Interesting he has to do so much debate prep:

Biden goes home to prep for debate (will spend the entire week preparing)

DETROIT (CNN) – Following a rally in Detroit with Barack Obama Sunday afternoon, Joe Biden will return home to Wilmington, Delaware to prepare for his Thursday night debate with Sarah Palin.

The Delaware senator’s schedule is blank until he flies to St. Louis for the debate, though he will head to Washington to vote on the bailout package when the vote is scheduled in the Senate.

Spokesman David Wade says the only preparation Biden has done up to this point is reading and talking to a wide range of colleagues, among them senators Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein.

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm will fly to Wilmington this week to play the role of Palin in sparring sessions with Biden. In a recent interview on NBC’s Today Show she said, “I want to beat him up a little bit, so he does well.”

Much as I like Sarah and think she would be an outstanding VP/POTUS, she is going to be flattened in the debate if the Campaign continues to have her regurgitate portions of the stump speech. They need to let her free-wheel a LOT more. She’s plenty sharp enough to avoid major gaffes, and she’s now read into McCain’s policy positions. Up until now, many of her responses have seemed “wooden” and over-rehearsed in nature. She’s far better when she’s allowed to speak directly from the heart and tell exactly what her personal positions are on issues. If there’s a diversion from McCain’s positions, she can caveat with a statement something like “there may be some differences of opinion between Sen. McCain and myself on this issue, but on the whole we are united. One of the great aspects of Sen McCain is his willingness and ability to entertain a differing point of view.”

I say let Sarah be Sarah.

Sarah is floating around and seeing for herself what the real people think about the issues, unfiltered by any other parties. This intelligence-gathering mission may prove valuable for McCain.
