Obviously Obama is more stupid then I gave him credit for.
Just as obviously he has zero knowledge about the military the military mindset and the need of the military in regards to defending America and Americans.
I served during wartime with a draft. Never again should that have to happen. I volunteered. people next to me were drafted. If I would have been in combat I would have been very unhappy with the situation. Why would a combat soldier want anyone in the military that does not desire to be there doing the job that is required of the military.
This man is a danger to the Nation.

our military is strong because we are all volunteer. We are the envy of the world. Nothing is more demoralizing then having a soldier in your unit that does not want to be there or is against what you are fighting for.

We have the finest military in the world and most is due to the all volunteer force.
Drafting every cretin and lowlife into the services would degrade our combat capabilities by forcing the military structure to deal with malcontents and shirkers at every turn.
Our current crop of troops have proven to be smarter, on average, than their civilian counterparts and are motivated to be there. Not so if we get a drafted force.
On top of force degradation we do not have the money to spend on pay for every person having to be drafted, and if there is an alternative way to serve outside of the military we will still end up paying them.
Add those numbers to the 1 Trillion dollar bailout and see how poor we get.

There is a perfectly good reason for it. During Viet Nam, there were many people who got involved in the anti-war movement simply because they could potentially be drafted. The pinkos have to come up with strategies that increase there numbers, especially among the young.

What a moron. In todays much-higher-tech military, the train-up time is much longer than back in 1971, when I was the (almost) last draftee. You ca’t do the draft unless it is for 4 years.
