This Week seems to be the only one worth watching.
Good Morning, AB. Thanks for your faithfulness in providing this thread each Sunday.
Morning AB and All.
I hope Meet the Press fairly gives Bob Schaffer a fair shot. Yeah, yeah, cold day in hell and all that, but I hope Freepers will be able to get a good understanding of him. He’s a good conservative and articulate. Finally, we have someone who can debate conservative ideals clearly.
Also, for anyone who has not seen it. Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided to call Republicans un-patriotic.

Another little tidbit comes in a NYTimes piece this morning. Apparently if Paulson hadn’t bailed out AIG it would have cost Goldman Sachs $15 billion:

Fox News Sunday just had Nasty Pelosi claim an agreement has
just been approved in the House.
Oh boy, can’t wait to hear this BS
Morning AB and thanks again for the thread.
Should be a wild ride today everyone hang on.
Today Team McCain moves into the next phase of their masterful maneuver which makes McCain the KEY figure in rescuing the American economy.
I remain ticked off over Democrats trying to insert profit sharing to ACORN.
I hope House Republicans continue opposing this fiasco. The only reason Democrats want House Republicans on-board is to give them cover when the solution fails.
When do we get to see the actual plan so we can truly see if and how the American people get the short end of the stick....again.
Earlier they said they have a verbal consensus, not the printed agreement. As pointed out, the devil will be in the details and we all know Democrats do well hiding or being vague when they want to pull something on us.
Democrats take Ronald Reagan’s “trust but verify” to a whole level.
This has been true for years. On abortion Democrats always want to insert “health of the mother” without defining what health means so they can interpret it anyway they want to.
If that's the case we may have to save their sorry butts, but the process they used to get us there has to be stopped and some heads should roll.
Looks like to me a very complex, complicated mess.
wow what a good /interesting list. Will be very anxious to read everyone’s take on things. I leave for church normally before 9 & so miss most.
Wonder if 42 will endorse McCain & announce changing to Independent? (or GOP)
Wonder if The Messiah will admit he was asked to NOT wear the bracelet of the killed hero he flaunted
Wonder if McCain will start bringing up the really GOOD STUFF against The Big O we are all waiting for...........and attack the bias of the media
Well this is my wish/dream list..
looking forward to everyone’s comments & reports
Definitely the devil is in the details. We cannot trust the Dems, look at the negotiations, they broke the agreement before it even started. I wish Blunt had walked out when nine of them walked in.
What they write on paper has to be studied under the finest of microscopes, every last word, they can not be trusted.
Heavy odds are he won't even be asked about it.
As I understand it, the meeting turned into another slug fest with Democrats being shrill. Pelosi confiscating everyone’s Blackberry tells how much she trusts her side.
The truth is, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd should not be allowed to attend and should lose their committee chairmanships.
This is the crux of how they incrementally try and turn the nation into a Marxist paradise. They do it a little bit at a time and if it has to be snuk into an agreement at 2:30 AM in the morning so be it.
A political party that will seek major political advantages at the expense of a worldwide financial collapse is the lowest of the low and that's where the dems are now.
I am starting to like using YouTube for videos. The more these people are exposed, especially in their own words, the more voters will begin to understand how they lie and mislead.
The stupid vote is out there and they will cancel ours. Best thing we can do is convert as many as possible, hopefully saving the nation from creeping socialism a while longer
I wonder how the coming "Fairness Doctrine" will affect YouTube?
Yep, though of course it was the mortgage fiasco that exposed the stresses in our Rube Goldberg modern financial system. That’s why we’re handling two disasters at once—but not seeming to address the root causes of either!
Here is Reuters take on the tentative plan:

Stewart Varney (?) on Fox said we had better watch the written bill....the Dems were still calling for money for ACORN.
We certainly are going to pay for letting the Dems control Congress.
Frank Luntz was on comparing the body language, etc., of the candidates in the debate.
He made one assessment, which I agree with:
McCain is too quiet, too laid back, too soft-spoken in the debate. People want a President who is going to command, not whisper.
[I have noticed McCain speaking softly in several recent interviews. It is probably his trying to circumvent the ‘rage’ and temper allegations. But it is also detrimental.]
Well, Obama and the Democrats are apparently suing and attacking people in Missouri for ads so I presume they would do something similar across the country, given half a chance.
That's what worries me the most.
What problems are we actually solving?
700/350 billion is way to much to spend for a band aid. We need actual major surgery for that price.
My Guess?
Clinton.
I talked to my mother last night, who claimed his temper was one of the reasons
she was leary of voting for Palin and the white-haired-old-dude. I've finally
convinced her that 0bambi wasn't the right guy to even consider. She lives in Chicago
and gets all of the local alphabet stuff forced on her. I've turned her back to our side, I hope...
"I was out-numbered 9 to 1, and out-witted 3 to 1."
As a lurker who posts seldom, but reads every post,
I didn’t even notice you were gone...go figure
Just one of zillions of holes in this thing.
It's gonna all depend on who is in charge of Congress and the adm. If Millhouse wins we will all be plunged into socialism.
According to Cspan, ACORN was stripped from the bill due to GOP pressure.
Or does that just come from sitting in the John Kerry section of the Senate? Senator Obama sounded like Madonna when she affected that British accent. I suppose when Senator Obama received word that a deal had been reached on the Obama-Bush Bad Banker Bailout and Amnesty Act, it came to him on his BLAWKBERRY.
I think the Sunday shows should start handing out bracelets to each guest, so the guests can use them as instant credibility proof. If Baraq Obama had one of those, he would not have had to waste 9 days this summer traveling to foreign countries to prove that he had foreign policy experience.
Thanks for the information. I hope that includes La Raza and other so-called community organizations who are scamming us to get funds.
I know and a lesser man (like the other guy) would’ve concealed the event.
I disagree completely. I think McCain was calm but strong and forceful. He didn’t whisper by any means. His assault on Obama was gradual but grew in strength and by the end of the debate, Obama had been slapped down, to the point of saying idiotic things like “I reserve the right, as president of the United States to meet with anybody at a time and place of my choosing” in regards to meeting with terrorist dictators and “I’ve got a bracelet, too!”.
I think Luntz is overrated and his commentary about useless.
$350 Billion.
How considerate.
Now, we’ll only need half as much K-Y.
It’s Ebonics.
