John McCain gives Barack Obama a master class in foreign policy

Nile Gardiner Sep 27, 2008 at 08:08:46 [General]

John McCain emerged the clear victor from last night's U.S. presidential debate on foreign policy. With the swagger and aggression of an experienced prizefighter, McCain laid punch after punch on his Democrat opponent, after a shaky start discussing the Wall Street financial crisis. After recovering from the opening 20 minutes which focused on economic issues, McCain was in his element discussing the biggest international questions of the day, from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to the looming threats posed by Iran and Russia.

John McCain emerged the clear victor

One would have to be blind, deaf, and dumb to not agree. Or in the tank for Obozo.

You have to go to Europe to get objective news reporting.

All my life I’ve known it at Pakistan. Now, because of one stupid debate, I’m going to be hearing about Pockystawn. I know! I know! “That’s the way the Pockystawnis say it.” What a joke.

At times, Obama looked more like a freshman in his first debate at the Oxford Union than a candidate for president of the United States. His answers frequently appeared wooden, stilted and over-rehearsed. His knowledge of international affairs came across as superficial, and at times seemed nervously snatched from the pages of a college textbook. McCain spoke overwhelmingly from personal knowledge with an extensive and expansive understanding of modern history. For a 72-year old, Senator McCain looked sharper, more nimble and quick-footed than his far younger opponent.

Now this is impartial coverage of the debate. I was embarrassed for Obozo.

Yes, McCain won.

But Obama didn’t make an absolute fool of himself, and he has the entire liberal press to spin it his way. So I’m not sure how many votes McCain will gain from it.

No one but an idiot or someone with a bad case of liberal guilt would vote for Obama, but those people are not accessible to facts or reason anyway.

When I asked my 23 year old son (who likes O-bomba) what he thought of the debate, he said he thought McCain showed more passion. I see a glimmer of hope for this kid! :)

Since the US Malignant Media can’t bring themselves to state the truth in what they saw last night our friends across the pond will do it for them. HA HA MCCAIN WON HANDS DOWN...although everyone saw it everyone will not admit it. The left again misjudged Americans they thought their nominee could be just about anyone and he’d be elected...and of course their cheating apparatus will seal it for them. The left thought since 2006 when they won control of the house and senate this would nail the presidency.

McCain seemed to do pretty well. In my book he 'won'. However I am a conservative who thinks logically. A liberal or a moderate might be more impressed with Obama's style & ability to sling the Bull -.

"Yes, McCain won."

Without a doubt. He won all the viewer response polls. As McCain's lead grew, all the networks stopped posting their results, and stopped even mentioning them. It was a laugh.

Don’t give up on your kid politically. My uncle Garry is the one who took the time and shaped me into a conservative.
It took him years and years of patient talking to me. I finally started to “get it”. He was never in my face with his views, always calm, always asking me thought-provking questions and letting me come to the light, little by little. Sadly, he passed away right before 9-11. I miss the man something terribly and now I carry the torch for my daughter.

Your story is inspiring. I have a young nephew that will be raised in Obama’s mold and I worry for him. What kind of questions did your uncle ask? Thank you.

Obama's style & ability to sling the Bull -

I agree. All he has to do is act like he knows what he's talking about. He knows "It's not what you say, it's how you say it."

That's why I hate that format. A moderator and two candidates going 100 miles an hour, spitting out memorized talking points.

Townhall format, McCain would wipe up the floor with him, which is why he won't do it.

I deliberately didn’t watch the after-debate spin because I came away knowing McCain had a clear win. I didn’t have the stomach to subject myself to the media’s BS take and slanted polls declaring Obama a winner. Obama was so out of his league.

The October 7 debate at Belmont Univeristy in Nashville will be town hall format. It will be moderated by Brokaw and issues will raised thru the Internet and by audience members.

“Your story is inspiring. I have a young nephew that will be raised in Obama’s mold and I worry for him. What kind of questions did your uncle ask? Thank you.”

Mostly Garry would ask questions that would lead for me to have to think for myself.

He would calmly and patiently explain some of the consequences of actions, and offer a “grand scheme” overview” of what could go wrong if a bad policy or plan was initiated. He was a very well read man (he was a lawyer, actually) and he always recounted the lessons of history to me with wit and humor. He asked questions that made me come to my own conclusions... come to think of it, I never think he came right out and told me I was *wrong* — even when I clearly was.

PM me if you’d like some more concerte examples.

Love and God Bless.
